Thanx everybody for your suggestions. It's not a price limit they give me. It's just the choice between these 3 cars.
The problem here in Austria is, once you get a company car, that you also use privately you pay more income tax. And that tax would be far less for the Golf. But I want a bigger car, so I think I'll have to bear the higher tax burden for the Passat or the Audi.
Just counting the (serious) votes so far:
1.) VW Passat (7)
2.) Audi A4 (5)
3.) VW Golf (4)

German Cars well it is hard to decide which one is better But I think after long long thinking Audi would be Better
Well. I think both Passat and Audi are veeeeery nice, but.... I think I'd go for the Audi.

I personally believe that Audi’s brand equity is superior to that of the Passat.
Please note that i am speaking strictly from a brand value perspective that consumers see, not from a driving pleasure or technical superiority perspective.
I’d go for any of these…rrrrr! Sighs!

Thanx everyone for your replies. You seem to be split between the Passat and the Audi. So am I. As I think both are good cars. But I’ll go for the VW Passat, since that car suits my needs better than the Audi.
And now it’s all about the colour option. My favourites are black-metallic and beige-metallic. What do you think?

It doesn’t matter what car u get Audi A4 or Golf or Passat - they all have the same engine - Audi is an expensive brand of VW. BTW VW is everything - Volkswagen Group of Companies.
Volkwagen - Audi - Skoda - are same.
Audi A3 / Audi A4/ Golf/Bora (Jetta in USA) - are same size A4 & Bora are just Saloon Model.
Passat / A6 - are same in size. Passat just comes in 1.6 Engine as well. RS6 is exceptional model of Audi. On the other hand W8 is the biggest of Passat. Both are performance cars & really mad for fuel consumption. Both are out of reach of a normal earner.
RS6 450HP - 4.2 - Quattro Twin Turbo - top speed 320 km (by the book) 0-100km 4.5 seconds.
W8 - 280hp - 4.0 - 4 Motion Turbo - top speed 292 km (by the book) - 0-100km 5.2 seconds.
Phaeton / A8 - are the same thing - But u dont want any of them. Phaeton is better in Engine & performance - A8 has more accessories.

If u do high mileage then I would recommend Passat 1.9 TDi (Red Di - 115 HP) dont buy RED TDi - RED Di is better in fuel & running cost.
If u dont do high mileage then buy 2.0 normal 125HP petrol model. If u need performance with it as well with economical price then go for Passpat 1.8T 150HP Sportsline/Comfortline/Highline (not basis).
I am driving 1.8T Comfortline at the moment & pretty happy with it. You can imagine that from Vienna to Amsterdam I do in 10 hours (unless road works etc etc). The accelaration (0 - 100 km) is around 8 seconds & top speed I ever achieved is 232km on the flat (225 km by the book)- 255km down the slope.
I would go for British Racing Green Metallic colour (called differently in European models), though I have a black Metallic at the moment.
BTW Audi is nearly the double on running cost - so keep in mind & calculate how much u are gonna spend on the car + running cost as well.
I used to have Audi so I know the car very well - Very good car but expensive to run - actually u might have seen my old dog - Audi 80 (1993 model - I only sold it becuase it was RHD British car).

so? are you talking engine or interior? If you are talkign engine..then realize that the purchase decision is in Europe wehere Fuel is actually more espensive than bottled water unlike US :)
If it is interior space that is an issue, I doubt that the Bug has less room than a miata or s2000 or an eclipse etc.
