Which AntiVirus/anti-spyware you use?

As I am an information security professional, I would like to see what products most people use and if they have any ideabout their strengths or weaknesses?

I use McAfee Antivirus/Anti-spyware/Host intrustion prevention suite.

Normal household may not requrie ... all the fancy AV/AS suites with some free utilities (cache cleaner...etc) and a decent AV such as AVG and free AS such as lavasoft they can easily fend of the concerns about security, however my personal favs are
AS: spybot search and destroy (same as McAfee AS)
AV: Trend Micro (we get a free copy from our university)
and I am using an old version of windows washer too.

I would disagree with the statement that normal household may not require fancy things. Instead they are very susceptible to key-loggers, spywares. Agreed that corporate and business users face more threats but home users are not threat free either.

Windows washer? Thats so 90's :D

I don't use any. I just keep my XP+SP2 updated with all MS XP security pactes.

I don't download email attachments. I don't download games. I don't go to questionable websites.

I still get infected rarely. When I do, I hate to have to clean it up but it never really works perfectly. After being infected with adware/spyware/virus, someting always remains screwed up no matter how much you try to clean it. I have found formating/reinstalling option much better and cleaner and it never fails. I keep all my data files on separate drives so backing up before formating is never an issue. I have a 'ghosted' image of my machine's OS with all the drivers and everything standard that I use often (MS Office, Photoshop, VMWare, etc). I just boot my machine with Ghost CD and voila. Life is easy.

AV : Avast
Rest: Adaware, SpyBOT S&D

I dont use IE, so rarely get any spyware etc.

no antivirus. i hate them..

ad-aware and spybot for spyware

i use sygate firewall and etrust antivirus, also another good software is spyware detector

AV: none
Anti Spyware: none – don’t need 'em anymore
KERIO personal firewall

i use tcpview as a fixed window on the right side of the screen and run hijackthis every now and then.

I use Norton 2006. I love it.

^^ Norton is one of the worse products out there (now - used to be best … about 5 years back).

Best AV : AVG!! (http://free.grisoft.com) = FREE! and really the best (doesn’t take much CPU power and stay up to date the most)

Best Friewall: ZoneAlaram (Free - find link through google) / Keiro (2nd best - again free)

The older Norton versions have had some problems. However, 2006 is just awesome. It doesn't affect the speed of my PC, it catches everything. I've tried others, but I just find this to be most valuable to me.

i would recommend F-Secure

Currently

Firewall - Zone Alarm Pro
Antivirus - ETrust
Spyware - ZoneAlarms got a built in spyware thing

Otherwise I sweep SpyBot thru all computers once a week.
Esp the girls computers cause they visit all these gaming websites.

I've used Nortons, hated it.
Used McAfee, hated that too
Used AVG the full thing, hated it.

ZoneAlarm works like a gem.
Constantly on Limewire and havent had a problem yet.

Duno bout Etrust, a friend gave me a stolen copy from his work
Its been sitting there with its cute little symbol since then.
I find it hard to sometimes navigate but havent had any virus problems on all computers so maybe its doing its job properly.

Fretwiz: Norton 2006 is comparatively better because it does not take up system resources as it used to but guess what. They have compromised on their always-on scanning engine for that matter. And also its spyware is updated seperately.

Prince MS: Best AV AVG?. They have got no protection agaisnt zero day attacks and offer no buffer overflow protection. But yeah it might be the best though for free :p

LegallyBrown: Etrust is a good AV no doubt. Prolly the only one that can challenge McAfee's IMO. And its antispyware (pest Petrol) is top notch thing too. Only thing hinders its progress against McAfee is their lack of flexibility in their remote console and lack of process scanning in spyware module. However it works like a charm for home users.

For Zone Alarm fans: I am/was a fan too and it is really good for home users. Only draw back is that it is does not prevent but detects intrusions. However, a damn good product available for free.

Asif2000: If you wanna format/reinstall every time then its your call but its a risky thing you play with :D

I love My McAfee,,, it is the best american AntiVirus.
