Paragraphs are your friend.
Also, talk to people in your family. We obviously do not know the whole picture here.

He sounds miserable.
Re: Whether is he really a good person....
God, he sounds like such a loser that I wouldn't even want him to meet my parents...or have my parents check him out. YUCK!

Re: Whether is he really a good person....
Do you really think if he was a guy of substance he would do that? and plus why would someone find their mate online, are they that bad?
Re: Whether is he really a good person....
In short, he doesnt seem a nice fella. Asking for gifts, expecting you to call even when he is working for last 8 years, becoming cranky if you try to know more about him... yes they are red flags. No one here can tell better that whats actually in his head. I think, either he is hiding something or he has incredibly unnecessary male ego, and both things are equal red flags. The only way out or to clarify things for you is to talk to your family.
One more thing, i find it a very big BULL**** that he rejected many proposals just because of you. :@

Re: Whether is he really a good person....
First of all, you have been talking for 7 months and haven't told your parents about him? that's your first mistake. Parents look out for their kids and aren't afraid to ask the important questions for their kid's well being. Questions about verifying career, etc should have been confirmed early on, I don't blame him for feeling insulted about being questioned at this point - its like you don't trust him after all this time. The asking for gifts- maybe he's oblivious to how you felt, and maybe he honestly forgot about your bday, and maybe he's just not a phone person -- he's a guy, they don't usually chat with their buddies for hours. Not saying marry him, just saying don't over-read things. If you think there is potential, you should tell your parents you're interested in someone, and then tell him to tell his parents to call yours. and if you decide to drop him, next time, both parties, if interested in marriage, should inform their parents within a month, get the green light, and then go ahead.
