I think about it all the time:
a: I would like to be burried sideways this way I dont occupy too much space plus I get to screw the person next to me.
b: I also thought about getting burnt (whatever the correct word is ,slips my mind right now) and just getting over with it.
c: I picked out a place next to my dead cat (in my back yard) but the town wont let me. This time flat on my back dont want to screw the cat but I am sure the cat thinks otherwise.
d: fish food just dump my body in the ocean, I believe in giving back, ate a lot of fish so now time to give back.

no i have never thought about it. who knows if my body would need that? maybe i would die in a road accident, plane crash, drowning or............. i mean, who knows if my body would survive to go through "burial"?

We have already bought space in a grave yard in our city so if somone passes away, they are buried there. If anyone in our family passes away while living in the current city, they will be buried there as well. I wouldn't want to be buried in a country where I don't have any close relatives because then who will visit my grave and say a prayer for me? :)

P.S How selfish of us Humans that even when we die we gotta pay someone to get a piece of land to be burried and pay for the coffin(kafan), grave digger etc...

I guess according to Islam u ought to be buried where u died, irrespective of whetehr its ur home town, next to ur cat dog etc...

Why is so much importance given to burial after death? Isn't it all spiritual after death anyway? I can understand it being a big thing for the loved ones to give the deceased a respectful burial but why whould the dead care?

Thats absurd what if you die on a 5th floor of a hospital? Do they bury you under the raised floor phew the stink alone would kill the rest of the patients.

No, what is meant is that you should bury the person in the city/town where he/she died.
My Phuppa for example passed away a few months ago. He was travelling from Pakistan to London. He would have stayed in London for a week and then would have continued his travel to the USA. However he got a heart attack right after landing at London Heathrow Airport, was rushed to the closest hospital, but the attack was too severe.
Most of his children live in the US, only one of his sons lives in Pakistan. But already during his life he had said that he wanted to be buried wherever his “qismat” was, so his funeral took place in London. Although it would just have been a temporary stay there and his kids can now not visit his grave regularly.

Thats all very well, but i reckon alot of peoplewould like to be buried in a place that has meaning to them.
I have heard of quite a few arguments where the kids want their parent buried in a cemetry near them but the surving parent wants them to be buried "back home" next to the rest of the relatives
A few months ago Afghans where digging up their dead relatives(people who had died less than three years ago) in certain camps in Paks and taking them back to Afghanistan o be reburied.
they didnt want the graves to be desecrated, they heard that buildings where going to be put up on that site.

I knew a lady whos brother was buried in the back garden of his wifes house… the wife had a fall out with her mother in law and now doesnt let the family visit his grave.
