Where will Musharaf go for hiding

Re: Where will Musharaf go for hiding

the bar wasnt set too high for Mush to jump. r v writing mushy's obituaries already?

Re: Where will Musharaf go for hiding

Towards Understanding Islam...the most widely read book on Islam and that has lead to more conversions then any other book after Quran...

I guess the story of mush's hormonally charged escapades in the "tough" streets of Nazimabad are a standard for scholarly work, ought not to be considered scholar material, cause it got the results least desirable...

Re: Where will Musharaf go for hiding

Yeah unlike your idol Mush the pimp, Maudoodi wasn't kicked out of Pakistan...

Re: Where will Musharaf go for hiding

yeah maududi chose to go to teh country he yip yapped about all the time. thats some scruples innit?

do tell me about maududi sahabs education and training. he was a thug and he has left bigge rthugs liek qazi and diesel behind for us to suffer.

but thats a whole diff topic. Maududi was no real scholar, he was a dabba mullah.

Re: Where will Musharaf go for hiding

Maybe because Maududi rejected the very idea of Pakistan to begin, and cursed it's very existence. The hypocrite also lived and died in the land he hated - the USA, much liked where his supporters (and also America haters) also live.

Re: Where will Musharaf go for hiding

read some of his great words about prophets and sahaba and then decide the worth of this idiot jahil's words.

I read his works and was frankly shocked at the bossy tone and his statements about prophets and sahab and the prophets wives.

I dont want to waste my time listing teh crap here, we can set a new thread for that if needed. of course maududi's chamchay will come up with a thousand excuses and justifications for his lame word against prophets and even the prophet's wives and sahaba.

Re: Where will Musharaf go for hiding

Ayub was not prosecuted when he gave up power. Thus there was precedent for Yayha to step down without fearing prosecution. Zia didn't get as far as stepping down....

If Musharraf is prosecuted, the next General who takes over Pakistan will be haunted by the fear that if he peacefully gives up power, then he'll end up in jail.

Therefore, the main result of any prosecution of Musharraf will be that the next military government will only be removed by blood flowing in our streets.

Re: Where will Musharaf go for hiding

Maddie good insights, good to see folks have not dscounted rational thought, logic and reality as they look at future scenarios..

Re: Where will Musharaf go for hiding

Once again the people on GS refuse to see the bigger picture, and concentrate only on very local and personal level.

Everyboody is looking for their own messiah, and each one believes their messiah is better than the others.

Of all the messiahs in Pakistan, Musharaf may have his faults but he is still way better than all the other messiahs around.

Which other leader can the world trust and as importantly the army/establishment also respect to cope with the multiple challeges that face Pakistan, such as war on terror, Afghanisatan, Kashmir, relations with China and India, as well as continuing to build on the massive economic progress made in the last 5 years.

With uncertainty over the situation in Iran and the wider middle east, Musharaf aint going anywhere. The last thing anyone would want (read West) is uncertainty and further instability in Pakistan.

Re: Where will Musharaf go for hiding

a message needed to be sent to him..and I think it has been sent full force, and the powers that be will always have a hold on hi achilles heel, which is the idiotic emotional qaum which will bring the same old crooked ppl in power again and again due to ethnic ties. remember the media and certain visits to Pakistan by top officials of diff countries ;) that was preceded by a sudden upsurge in musharraf related news and then this whole mess started one thing after another.

yep..big picture view is sorely missing.

Re: Where will Musharaf go for hiding

Yes, I remember it well. However, the message that the powers that be wanted to give has obviously got out of hand, and they have realised that, and have been giving very strong messages of of support to Musharaf.

Re: Where will Musharaf go for hiding

yeah maybe even they underestimated the jahalat of majorityour qaum :D

Re: Where will Musharaf go for hiding

It is not a case of prosecution, the very army on whose back they came in riding ditched them when the tide turned. Ayub went after a public movement against him, the army did not step in to save him. Yahya was kicked out by the army itself and Zia well lots of rumours that he was killed by his own. So when the going gets tough the army does ditch the leader to save their own skin. Musharraf will be no exception. To say that "The Army will most probably never permit a prosecution of Musharraf; since that would weaken the Army's latent political power" is not correct. When did the army step in to save a sinking dictator. The answer is never.

Re: Where will Musharaf go for hiding

but they never let a military ruler be prosecuted either.
zia's case was diff and it looked more like a bigger thing than some homegrown disenchanted officers..
heh maybe musharraf planned zia's explosion..

Re: Where will Musharaf go for hiding

Bit strong to paint the whole nation with the same brush.

Re: Where will Musharaf go for hiding

Big deal, so they won't let them be persecuted but will blow them up in planes and let them sink. Fine, either way the nation gets rid of these power hungry dictators. The nation win in the end and that is what matters.

Re: Where will Musharaf go for hiding

okay point taken...

just the percentage that dont pay their taxes, which is an overwheming majority, in one sense of the word

and then the percentage which is illiterate- which is also a majority in another sense of the word :)

Re: Where will Musharaf go for hiding

I agree and it wont happen unless strong civilian govt takes over in Pakistan, but I have better idea. Lets put all the dictators names in hall of shame. What say ya'll?

Re: Where will Musharaf go for hiding

He was a good leader but now he is no more a leader, leave alone good or bad. His thirst to keep the power and uniform is increasing day by day.

Re: Where will Musharaf go for hiding

^Maybe when he started he was good but now I really have to look hard and hardly find anything good in his current policies. Now it's all a power game.
