Where we stand...

How to place Pakistan above all things, for ourselves; share your thoughts?

Where we Stand, determines how we let the World see us

We see it and then we do not. We know it and then we pretend we don’t. There is nothing truly representative of Islam and Pakistan, any longer in the way we as Pakistanis behave.

Poverty, ignorance, hunger and thirst, lack of economic stability, social justice, defense against the enemy, imbalance of power and wealth among different strata of the society, and invariable presence of all kinds of social ills are elements eating away at the good will and persistence of a few hard working middle class people. The mind set is: whatever makes my survival possible, I will do that, even if it means ruining my integrity and fore-sake my conscience.

Do we stop to ask our selves: why?

If only we could seriously question ourselves as Pakistanis as to why is it, that Pakistani culture is so distorted now, where no social value, ethics and God fearing spirit is left? If we were to blame non Muslims and non Pakistanis for any of what Pakistan as an Islamic nation state is going through today, it could only be held justified when some agency clearly causes forced occupation or terror attacks against people of Pakistan on our land. But, if that is not what we are capable of identifying and addressing that it is our fault. Pakistani youth and truly sincere leadership are the answer to the utter mayhem from which Pakistan’s sovereign status as a country is severely suffering.

All sectors of the Pakistani government and private corporations must induce a consistent and untiring effort in tightening and strengthening their fields of work: media, legislation, education, health, labor, housing, energy resourcefulness, responsible industrial and business development, environmental preservation and so forth to implement a nation-wide paradigm for self-sufficient progress which can enable us to keep our position as a key Islamic country.

All civilians in their individual projects and community-building works must show the true essence of loyalty to the country. We don’t have to look no further than our own selves, we don’t have to prove anything to anyone nor go by imitating any other culture or foreign country’s governmental bidding. We must unlearn any negative social act which harms and misrepresents our identity as Pakistanis and Muslims. Finally, we must separate the personal from the patriotic and think beyond the personal selfish reasons because if the country is being led to difficult survival, then we are sure to have a nonexistence.

Each individual Pakistani in their totality, needs to comprehend the long term effects of our actions and words, thoughts and views, before we represent Pakistan, Islam and our nation’s and individual character in the ways we do. Time and history does not wait for anyone, who feels dependent and powerless. We are the power and we know that we can sustain the good on our part in this country and in this world. Whether we live up to it, is up to us. Unless we recognize that our honor and dignity is our responsibility, not anyone else’s, we won’t be and cannot expect anybody to respect us as world citizens. It is all up to us how fast we do it and stand tall to deserve dignity and status of a free, just, prosperous, nation which is capable of defending itself on its own, always.

Re: Where we stand...

apparently, the agency of motives is not with it to focus on what ought to be focused on: the nation's respect.

Re: Where we stand...

too much philosophy.. this is Pakistan affairs.. we have another forum called phil & spir.. no one post their usually..but try your luck their

point taken, but if u take things too seriously all the time, the agency of motives blurs into self-righteousness kinda like the Taliban.

isnt a forum for "philosophy & spirituality" an oxymoron

I have to agree tho she is pretty hot (maybe was)

Re: Where we stand...

Dushwari... when it comes to actions, we are all hypocrites and selfish. That's where we stand. I don't know how we reached to this point but we are extremely self-centered bunch of baboons. We'll criticize everyone and everything but can never do anything to improve things. Like I am criticizing right now.

Re: Where we stand...

the misplaced, unethical ideals and utter lack of seriousness to commitment is enough to take people down, as can be witnessed, sadly.

Re: Where we stand...

^ perfectly stated. and that to me is the crux of problem.
