Where was Vienna convention when Afghan Ambassador was

Since the Americans are crying diplomatic immunity for the american commando being held in Pakistan…makes me wonder where was this law hiding when the Afghan Ambassador to Pakistan Dr Abdus Zaeef was arrested and illegally detained by Americans for 5 or so years and then released without any charges or trial???

Re: Where was Vienna convention when Afghan Ambassador was

America was at war with Afghanistan and therefore did not recognize their diplomatic status. Pakistan is not at war with America.

Re: Where was Vienna convention when Afghan Ambassador was

lol thats dumb.....vienna convention and rights of prisoners of war, they cease under no conditions and u know it

Re: Where was Vienna convention when Afghan Ambassador was

Diplomatic immunity does matter in such a case. As for prisoner of war status, there can be an argument but then was mullah zaeef tortured?

Re: Where was Vienna convention when Afghan Ambassador was

no, he spent his time in disneyland....ofcourse he was tortured in that cuban concentration camp for all those years and then released without any charge...above all he was an Ambassador ....representative of an entire nation to Pakistan and they bypassed all those Fancy Vienna laws

Re: Where was Vienna convention when Afghan Ambassador was

Lamp is correct. There are 4 conventions on POWs and how to treat them. There is a Convention on the Prevention of Torture. All are legal documents.

Re: Where was Vienna convention when Afghan Ambassador was

Thats what i was thinking the other day.

Re: Where was Vienna convention when Afghan Ambassador was

Do you know which country wears the crown when it comes to Geneva Convention violations and has broken quite a few international laws! Here is a clue it starts with "U"
:)

Re: Where was Vienna convention when Afghan Ambassador was

so-called government of Taliban was shattered, Talibans run into holes or caves - the sovereignty of the country was compromised. So hence he didn't entitle to diplomatic immunity.

well handling over the ex-diplomat is minor issue, what do you think what happened to all the embassies of Afghanistan and it's foreig mission around the world - who is in-charge of them?

Re: Where was Vienna convention when Afghan Ambassador was

Their is no information available he was tortured, apart from his claims about stress position and subjected to sleep deprivation.

All in all, i don’t give a shyt what happened to talibanic mence and their supporters, if they are burnt alive - i am perfectly fine with it, because of what they did with my country.

but reality is taliban’s are made of Pakistan’s sperm, well the experiment gone bad. So exterminate them :k:

Re: Where was Vienna convention when Afghan Ambassador was

Firenze bhai… :mirch:

Calm down with the extremism man… besides what do you mean by your country?

USA or Pakistan? :cb:

Re: Where was Vienna convention when Afghan Ambassador was

How could he be a diplomat if Pakistan stopped recognizing taliban as the rulers of the sovereign nation of afghanistan?

Re: Where was Vienna convention when Afghan Ambassador was

Wrong. Wrong. Wrong! Just imagine me doing that in a sing song voice, just like one would do to a child.

Re: Where was Vienna convention when Afghan Ambassador was

Shouting doesn't change facts.

Re: Where was Vienna convention when Afghan Ambassador was

Duh. The problem is people like you don't know what the facts are. Pakistan doesn't have relations with Israel. By your standard, we can arrest an Israel Ambassador and torture him and the conventions do not apply. Me I say the opposite.

Re: Where was Vienna convention when Afghan Ambassador was

Technically it can but then we don't have the israeli ambassador in Pakistan, so we'll have to abduct from somewhere else.

Afghanistan.

Re: Where was Vienna convention when Afghan Ambassador was

The year was 2007.
Democracy-loving-international-conventions-respecting Americans kidnap and illegally detain Iranian Diplomats for more than two years (in Iraq), and uncle Sam gives the world yet another lesson about how to really respect international laws.

We are just trying to follow a "little" bit of our role model US of A.
