Hi,

Invest in land or gold!

Bord or some currency in this world crisis are not very sore.

Re: Where to invest savings???

^^ Yep. Land and gold but I would prefer land. Also look into islamic mutual funds that consist of income as well and growth stocks. Stay away from bonds for obvious reasons.

I assume you are in USA, the prices of all the real estate is at historically low, its available in dirt-cheap rates. Now if you have believe on United States, that it will restore itself back to glory days. Then owning real estate is a great option, Obama Administration is also giving tax-breaks for new home owners. A great time for those, who has cash !

2. Investing in bonds

In the traditional sense: You can purchase, for example, government bonds whereby you invest 1000$, on which the government will guarantee you a 4% annual return. But you already pointed-out only Islamic so this is not halal. Even in Pakistan when you invest in Gov-Bonds they are haram if they are not issued as Islamic Bond.

As soon as global market starting to recover, Gold will fall like autumn leaf. After the G20 summit in London this month, it looses more then 20% of its value, and if you didn't read the press release by IMF, they are going to sell their gold reserve this summer, this will drive down gold prices further atleast 20-35%. Final verdict is, nope gold is not a good investment today !

This is for pro's .. i simply won't recommend this for beginner's at all.

Re: Where to invest savings???

Buying investments in Pakistan is a big hassle. I bought some FAS stock on the NYSE for six dollars a share last week. It is selling for $8.50 now. I think it is still a good buy. Good luck.

Re: Where to invest savings???

^is that purchaseable in usa?

Re: Where to invest savings???

firenze,
thanks for the detailed reply for ma each querry, well i m from pakistan not in USA, and need to make sum investments here in pk. from all above posts i got that investing in land or Gold wud be gud idea, but as u stated that Gold value is abt to loose its 20% value more after the G20 summit. then i guess waiting for the prices to get lower wud be fine enough.

abuot land em still skeptical as there r lodz of fake schemes and fake dealing in properties aswell, but these days in pk properties are at their lower rates. so this option is attractive aswell.

what u guys think if i make investment in land or so, wud the prices be raised in future?

Re: Where to invest savings???

Stock Market, Real Estate & Industry of Pakistan is currently stable and will keep rising if their is political stability. If you have believe on Pakistan that it will not go anywhere, then don't think too much, just buy whatever you like, Gold is not a good investment right now, yes maybe after 6-12 months, when it will be historically low.

Re: Where to invest savings???

I'd say currency investments, but if you have no idea what you are doing, then don't bother. Rather, invest your money in to real-estate in US/Canada. The house are cheap now and the value seems to be decreasing, but 1-1.5 years from now, it will begin to rebound without a doubt.

Re: Where to invest savings???

Yes, on the New York Stock Exchange. (By the way, today it closed at $9.75 ; traded as high as $10). Hate to brag but I just made over $40,000 in two days.

Good luck

Re: Where to invest savings???

By the way, this stock has gone up 60% in two days, so I would be cautious buying now.

Re: Where to invest savings???

Citibank C @ $4 is looking good for 15%

FAS down @ $ 7.50 looking good for 15%

Re: Where to invest savings???

In other words, I am keeping 25-30% of my investment money in the above stocks. The rest I am keeping in cash. In addition, I will buy FAZ (closed at $11) with 5% of my money tomorrow.

Re: Where to invest savings???

Knowledge about the stock market can help us invest and make money for our retirement years. I wish our schools would teach kids about how the stock market works and how to invest in it properly.

By the way, those who invested in the three stocks I suggested yesterday made another 9% today. For me that was $15,000. My total earnings for the three days, up 67% which amounted to $55,000. This is just one fun way of investing your savings.
