We’re looking into going away sometime in March-April next year…any suggestions? We want to stay in US or perhaps go to Canada…so no Mexico/South America..
so far I’ve seen deals for costa rica, Montreal, and hawai…can’t decide where else to go?
I’ve looked on travelzoo and orbitz..
Please suggest any other cities/websites..thanks

get a map of usa out and hit(dart) a destination ...and find things to do in that location and keep it within ur budget....:)

Whether wise - March is pretty cold for Northern US and Canada. How about
Vegas, Grand Canyon, Arizona?
San Diego, LA?
Florida Keys?
hawaii always nice.

how many people are there in ur party? a tip: if u wanna save some big bucks and if u decide to visit canada, its a good idea to fly into a bordering city within the US and then rent a car and drive over. fares alone to canada are much higher than the fares u wud pay to travel the same distance within the US.
we’re going to Richmond, Virginia and when i looked up for fares i was stunned to see the difference in fares. if i were to fly from Toronto as compared to Buffalo, which is only hour an a half drive from my place. Fares from Toronto averaged around Can $500/person while from Buffalo it was ony Can $183 with all the taxes and fees. a huge saving right there. Canadian fares are too high coz of taxes and less competition.
a good place to start is www.kayak.com. i love this site coz it compares the fares with 4-5 different travel sites using multiple airlines.

P.S.: Don’t forget to check the box that says “my dates are flexible” so it will give you the fares available over a total of 6 days with one search

hwo about Orlando, Florida? Only if you enjoy disney! My husband and I went there in 2009 for 4 days.. booked teh ticket, hotel, car on cheaptickets.com and yes we stayed under $2000.00 including meals/park tickets etc. in Florida! We got a deal for disney themeparks at our hotel.. we paid the price of 1 for two!
This year we went to Los Angeles/San Diego.. don;t visit the disney land but there is sooooooo much to do, universal studios, zoo, sea world etc etc.. again we booked the airfare, hotel, car on priceline.com and I am very very picky about hotels.. I read about 100 reviews before I book one.. tripadvisor.com is the place for hotel reviews!
Last btu not least, we did a road trip to DC/VA last year in March.. I will not recommend it just because it was pouring and there wasn't much outdoor stuff to do but we visited a few museums in DC and Shanandoah caverns in VA.. nice trip.. we took our car and booked the hotel on priceline.com.. it was the cheapest trip ever :-D
I will say Hawaii but then I dunno what's there to do excpet to stare in each others eyes.. which I am sure you do at home :D

Hawaii has tons of activates, volcanoes, hiking, beaches, scenic drives, water activities.
I was thinking of St. Lucia for March- April time frame for a getaway. Jet Blue has good flights from JFK.
