Where is the desi area in San Franciso?

I am visiting SF during the Christmas break and I have a question. Where is the “Desi” area? I am going with family, and I am sure during the 5 day visit parents would want to eat some Pakisani food there. We don’t know anyone there, just going to see the sights.

So where is the best Pakistani restaurant in San Franciso?

Look up Indian restaurants, or Pakistani restaurants and I’m sure you’ll find areas of interest. Although I’ve never been to San Francisco, I hear the rice-a-roni is a real treat.

^ how’s cali workin out saima?

Edit: nevermind, i just read ur other thread

shalimar on jones street

the best pakistani restaurant in the bay area :k:

they have a branch in fremont too but the one in sfo is the best

There is no "desi" area in San Francisco... if you are thinking in the sense of Devon, Gerrard or Jackson Heights. The Pakistani restaurants in SF are in pretty questionable locations and do not have other Pakistani shops around them. So the scene is spread out.

The best desi scene in the Bay Area is in the cities of Fremont/Newark, where 2 Pakistani restaurants, Mehran and CHandni have a few boutiques and desi stores near them. Fremont also has an area called "Little Kabul", which has a bunch of Afghani outlets.

tenderloin is shady but hey the drunks on the street make the the wholte event more fun!

I recall a naan and kebab or some name like that in the nay area, plus i do recall seeing a bunch of desi shops close to U-Cal campus.
