people forgetting theircultural heritage, values & roots in order to imitate other cultures which are ‘deemed’ more ‘trendy {as in sexy as in cheap}’ - whether it suits them or not!
that’s what is happenng to shuwar kamiz in Pakistani dramas, in case of female actresses.
dressing modest is a thing of the past, in fact now a days, looked down upon.
saris can still be worn but with grace. jeans and t-shirts or blouses can be worn too, but one must carry oneself in a modest way.
for men too, dressing up tastefully in shuwar kamiz is rare now a days.
sad.

I wanna know what happened to our dramas, forget about the clothes. Once our stories start coming back then so will the clothes.

I think its bcoz of private channels,on ptv always kameez shalwar worn. private channels show indian n western style...

Whenever I see the general population in Pakistan wearing Shalwar Kameez, the regular every day ones, it just looks way to medieval to me. For women it's not so bad, but the general population wearing the regular everyday shalwar kameez looks horrible. I'm glad at least in their dramas (some of them) they're not wearing them.

why dont u sell up in canada, go bak to PK- and with ur assetts buy a pair of armani jeans for every tom-dick-n-harry? cumon dude- they r not medieval…its just the way their govt wnats them 2 be!..and a nice suit (shalwaar-kamiz) often out does western attire!

When I look at older family pictures from the 60’s which showed the general public, most men were wearing dress pants and shirts, which I thought just looked real nice. It does’t have to be armani, but those plain shalwar Kameez just looks bad.

wearing shalwar kameez makes the dramas look more realistic, because that's the common dress of pakistan.....u dont see ppl wearing saris at home...at least i didnt when i went there...

shalwa kameez r just great... but as usual our pakistani society try to copy the indian one,,, of course women also wear sari in pakistan but defenetly not this style of sari shown in the dramas ,, these r totally indian saris...
