Does anyone know of places in Karachi where they make designer copies but you don’t have to get them the fabric etc?
Don’t want to know about Jabeens and RimJhim
or even the ones that advertise here and on facebook…because their work is not always that good or similar to how the real designs and dresses are. Want to know about a particular bazaar/dukhaan like the ones in gulf etc where they do this but don’t have to give them the fabric.
Re: Where in Karachi?
unless you go with a private designer, i don't think any karigars do this. even at kehkashan, they require fabric. and honestly, that is the best way because you get to choose which fabric you want and pay for it- otherwise they might tell you its pure silk but get you mixed silk and keep the change.
also, hi! its been ages! we've missed you in Weddings :)
Re: Where in Karachi?
I don't want to go to a private designer they don't really make good convincing copies..they have to add or deduct something or the other on their own but I don't want to search for exact same fabrics to get the designs made. Rimjhim charges just as much as the designers and so does Jabeens. I am sick of paying a lot for the originals and/or getting them made by R and J for now.
Hey aww how sweet :D. I know - I switched forums went to showbizz section.
Re: Where in Karachi?
^ you get what you pay for though, right? :)
Re: Where in Karachi?
well today i went kurtuba for the very first time. i saw excellent emberoidery at very reasonable price. they told that they make copies as well. they can use their own fabric but they suggest a shop at main road HILAL SILK( Near kfc bahadurabad) for fabric if we want for emberoidery. i did nt check the shop but i will very soon :)
Re: Where in Karachi?
Hey those karigars are not trust worthy. My cousins who knows about the kaam and pretty much familiar about the kaam, fabric and markets places of karachi and lahore. she got cheated by the karigars of qurtaba, gulf and ghosia / gizri market. They ruined her dresses and really did a horrible job with cheap low quality kaam and fabric. So be careful!
Re: Where in Karachi?
So what places are trust worthy? I have only got stuff from Gulf ka ek dukhaan. Rimjhim and Jabeens till now but R and J are expensive a little less then the originals only. While others are a hassle you have to go look for the fabrics and all and then give it to the guys for embroidery.
