Where do You get your Life Energy?

Where do You get your Life Energy?..From within you or from your environment…
I guess Im asking are you an extrovert or an introvert? Do you feel exhausted when you are in a lot of people and it drains your energy..or You feel as if you Attain energy when you are amongst them?

Re: Where do You get your Life Energy?

I think most people who dont know me see me as an introvert.

What do I see myself as? Depends on my mood and who is around me.

Re: Where do You get your Life Energy?

But are you...in general...?

I can be both depending on the situations but basically Im an introvert as being with too many people just exshausts me and after a while I have to go into hiding sorta to gather myself up:)

Re: Where do You get your Life Energy?

You mean do I like being around people or by myself most of the time? I prefer to be around family most of the time. So I dont know how you'd define that.

Re: Where do You get your Life Energy?

I get my life energy from the bottom of a can of red bull.

At any rate, depending on my mood the presence of others serves to both vitalise me and drain me.

Re: Where do You get your Life Energy?

I meant u know ..I dont know how to explain it …I found a definition from http://giftedkids.about.com/od/glossary/g/extrovert.htm

Definition: Most people believe that an extrovert is a person who is friendly and outgoing. While that may be true, that is not the true meaning of extroversion. Basically, an extrovert is a person who is energized by being around other people. This is the opposite of an introvert who is energized by being alone.

Extroverts tend to “fade” when alone and can easily become bored without other people around. When given the chance, an extrovert will talk with someone else rather than sit alone and think. In fact, extroverts tend to think as they speak, unlike introverts who are far more likely to think before they speak. Extroverts often think better when they are talking. Concepts just don’t seem real to them unless they can talk about them; reflecting on them isn’t enough.

Extroverts enjoy social situations and even seek them out since they enjoy being around people. "

:)…But after that wears off then:faizy:

Re: Where do You get your Life Energy?

From the same site:

What is an introvert?

Definition: Contrary to what most people think, an introvert is not simply a person who is shy. In fact, being shy has little to do with being an introvert! Shyness has an element of apprehension, nervousness and anxiety, and while an introvert may also be shy, introversion itself is not shyness. Basically, an introvert is a person who is energized by being alone and whose energy is drained by being around other people.

Introverts are more concerned with the inner world of the mind. They enjoy thinking, exploring their thoughts and feelings. They often avoid social situations because being around people drains their energy. This is true even if they have good social skills. After being with people for any length of time, such as at a party, they need time alone to "recharge."

When introverts want to be alone, it is not, by itself, a sign of depression. It means that they either need to regain their energy from being around people or that they simply want the time to be with their own thoughts. Being with people, even people they like and are comfortable with, can prevent them from their desire to be quietly introspective.

Being introspective, though, does not mean that an introvert never has conversations. However, those conversations are generally about ideas and concepts, not about what they consider the trivial matters of social small talk.

Re: Where do You get your Life Energy?

I'm definately an extrovert....leave me alone for a day and i'll die. I do outside and proactive sales and love being around people.....!!!

Re: Where do You get your Life Energy?

Munni sooo u r??

Re: Where do You get your Life Energy?

I find elements of both in myself. As I stated before, I love being around my family, and that means being around people. But at the same time I am very comfortable by myself at other times.

Being around other people doesnt drain me, but I also do not seek out company to keep me from getting bored.

Re: Where do You get your Life Energy?

..So u are an extrovert:)…Personally I have scored as an extrovert but thats the outside of me…I consider myself an introvert:cb:

Re: Where do You get your Life Energy?

Before reading the definitions, I’d considered myself an introvert more than an extrovert. Even after reading them I’d say if there was a scale, I’d lean more towards introvert. But I have elements of both, depending on mood. grin

Re: Where do You get your Life Energy?

ask99,

very useful thread.
pesonal zeal is guided by the presence of confident self within and condusive environ/ social support system without. called energy, this may get generated when people, are receptive, willing to appeciate the diversity in perspective which you present, and everyone is able to learn from each other, without being judgemental or biased.
& that can prove the work and family life, as well as interpersonal relations to become comfortable and in turn drive positive energy among people to constantly cooperatively work towards collective goals.

best,
