At what point of a “hanging” out, is too intimate for a friendship?
-A coffee
-A planned dinner
-A movie
-A walk in the park
-Watching the sunset
-A picnic on a beach
-A random weekend trip overseas sharing hotel rooms
-A week long cruise

Re: Where do you draw the line when going out with a friend?
nothing as long as neither of you feel anything.
As Neitzche said. "sure men and women can be friends, as long as there is physical apathy" (paraphrased)

sharing hotel room? ![]()
Re: Where do you draw the line when going out with a friend?
guys only "fall in love" w/you if you give out those Vibes. If you are truely platonic, they don't even go there.
Re: Where do you draw the line when going out with a friend?
I agree with Hitchki. You can do sensible stuff with your friends as long as you don't start developing feelings or they don't develop feelings for you. I agree with Malaikah also that I don't have that many guy friends so I like to hang out with my female friends.
Re: Where do you draw the line when going out with a friend?
When it comes to friendships of the opposite gender, I really dont have a lot. They always lead to trouble.
If its something you would expect a couple to do, then dont do it.
Coffee and lunch is usually where I would draw the line if I am being a bit liberal here.
Usually, the male friends I have are from college and limited to some phone conversation - thats usually agar unko koi zaroori kaam hai - once in a blue moon.
Aside from the coffee, all the of activities mentioned are a bit too intimate for friendship.
Re: Where do you draw the line when going out with a friend?
ok. so however many guy friends do you have, where do you guys draw the line with them?
Re: Where do you draw the line when going out with a friend?
hey can i say my 2 bits...
i draw the line at having a male friend. not allowed in my religion.
^ Agreed Aramis
it's fine to the limit of working with them/group project/etc, there's no need for excess chatter and spending free time with them.

yes what she said
Re: Where do you draw the line when going out with a friend?
I don't believe in platonic relationships between a man and a woman but if you are talking about hanging out in a group together its different, still not permisible but watching sunset and sharing a hotel room with a guy friend is a bit too much.

He also died of syphilis induced insanity so how much can we really believe what he says?
Men and women can only have a platonic relationship if the woman is not hot.
For some people, all of the above ![]()
But I would say that beyond coffee, everything else is setting yourself up for a more than friendship type of relationship.
Re: Where do you draw the line when going out with a friend?
depends on the frand.

In my personal opinion -- All of the above are tooooo intimate for just friendship with a guy.. unless its a group get-together arranged in college or office etc.. guys and girls when do any of the above things "just two alone" it'll turn out to infatuation if not love and this is true - believe it!! otherwise as aahmed said :D lol. anyway, that's why we call islam the perfect religion for the whole universe! man and woman are not supposed to go out alone like this.. haan IF they go out for any work purpose its fine, but unless it's just human made liberalism. [no offence to anyone]
Re: Where do you draw the line when going out with a friend?
If one of them is not even a little bangable then all of above is ok.
They will be like brother and sister.
Re: Where do you draw the line when going out with a friend?
Me and my friends are a mixed group, boys and girls and we all do the above kind of things.
I used to go everywhere but after a recent confession from a male friend at the cinema,I am cautious about where I go with whom.
