How and when such things are developed? I mean naming a place that sounds so funny … is it because people start calling it that way, and one day it becomes official name…
I know many places in Karachi become official due to Bus stop name. Private Bus conductors started calling the stop as like “Saeed Manzil,” “Mughal House,” “Aisha Manzil” etc. etc. and the places became famous with those names like forever…
Then, names like BhaiNs Colony, Sindhi Muslim Society (which is actually not really funny), Bangali paaRa are probabaly depcitive of what these places are about…
But “Allah walaa College” … who thought of naming it and why?
Paaposh Nagar… kiyaa jootaY miltaY haiN wahaaN :halo:?
On the same hand, translating original names of places in USA sound extremely funny… I remember having few threads in the past on places in USA translated in urdu…
Back home in my city there used to be a poultry shop named "Allah wala anda, murghi merchant" lol never made any sense to me.
and there was a no name hospital which was running with the support of community and it was totally free, like if u r poor and u need a heart transplant its gona be totally free, and then ppl started thinking ke who funds this hospital, and it ended up as "Allah tawakul hospital" and now its the official name, Allah tawakul huspataal lol.
