Salamz sistahz …been a while since i posted in the wedding forums and thought maybe this is best place to ask my questions
So my parents are going to Pakistan inshallah very soon and I was thinking that instead of asking for the usual things like clothes and waghera and have a lot of money spend on those things which i also can easily order online to give my mother some money and buy me a nice real polki diamond set of earrings or just a golden karra. Its something that never looses value and could also be used as an investment
The question is which jewelers do you recommend for buying polki diamonds that are reliable , trustworthy and authentic ?
Do you think its best to buy a nice polki subtle diamond necklace or just the earring sets ?
How much do they roughly cost ? I know the gold prices which can also be checked online but I have no clue about Polki’s.
Someone told me that most women buy loose diamond stones in pouch bags and have it set later in the preferred (precious or semi precious metal.)??? isnt that more expensive ??

please make sure if it has a resale value. I dont think diamonds have a good resale value if you are buying for investment purposes. max you will get is same price you bought it for minus the making charges.

Diamond polki jewellery is an Indian specialty and I would highly recommend that you deal with a well known Indian jeweller. But also know, there is generally no real investment value in polki diamonds due the fact that they are mostly uncut and unclear. The value of a diamond is in its cut and clarity. As is it, most often, the diamonds used in Pakistan come from India. Polki jewellery in India is generally valued for its aesthetic value and luxury brand value... like an LV purse or CL shoes.
For investment purposes, you are better off buying a certified diamond from a retailer like Tiffany & Co. Or a certified gold coin/bar... Not precious or semi-precious gemstones like ruby or emeralds since their floating rates are not very high and they are of no re-sale value when used in jewellery, only the gold is of significance.
All that being said, I think right now Kundan jewellery is the best way to make your gold stretch for your money.
But if you are wanting to buy gold from Pakistan for the sake of gold then stick to very basic pieces that require paying for minimum "work" or craftsmanship and no stones; plain bracelets and bangles maybe?
Otherwise, I am personally not so keen on buying diamonds from Pakistan.

you can easily get from any reputed jeweler. the polik's are not like something out of reach in Pakistan. actually most of the high class families have a tradition of wearing them, one reason for there easily availability is they are extensively mined in India.

polki's are uncut Diamond that is naturally earth mined, no enhancement, never lab created or synthetic whatsoever. The Polki Diamond maintains it's value in all markets internationally and are a great investment.
