where can i buy dramas?

Does anyone know where I can ctually buy dvd’s for dramas like Najia, Dil Diya Dehleez, etc? Don’t they come on DVD after they are aired?

As I know...the Copyright act in Pakistan bars the release of DVD, Video etc of any production unless its express rights are not purchased by the distributor from the Producers or Owners of the particular item.....

SADAF VIDEO was once popular in releasing videos of ongoing serials but they had to pay a heavy price--when they were reported.

If the channels like ARY, GEO & HUM are the producers--they will have the rights to market the DVs or Video...but after six months of the final episode of their serial. The DV and Video--so released will be free of the painstaking volley of adverts., one has to go through the agony of--when watching it normally on its weekly schedule when released.

i just dont understand how all these other dramas get on dvd then? ther are many dramas like wujood e laraib, ana, mehndi, etc that came on tv and now r on dvd/...

Why not? if you go through my submission carefully...you'll note that I did say that the TV serial after its last episode...will or can or may be released by the producer/owner ----after six months, in the market...as six months is the normal given period/time for recovery of revenues generated through adverts during the telecast of the serial.

Indeed..........but the main place--in Lahore---to buy DVs or Videos of TV serials etc. is inside ANARKALI.

At Karachi---its RAINBOW Cente behind Karachi Grammar School.

At Rawalpindi....its Raja Bazar near Liaqat Memorial Hall.

At Islamabad...its the Radio City at Jinnah Super.

At Peshawar........well you've got to have guts to visit a DV outlet out there under the shadows of TOPAKS.

Raju uncle it means DVDs of Dil Diya Dehleez may be released after 20th october...cuz the last episode of DDD was aired on 20th April

Sure....it should hit the shelves by early November IF the production house, the serial belongs to, prefers to immediately market the serial by way of DVs as well...and it is likely to happen due to the popularity of this serial...while HUM is already in process of going for the release of DV of MAN-O-SALVA.....as soon as possible---after the binding period.

Keeping your obvious anxiety in mind---I just called Sultana on phone and inquired, She said that;

DIL DIYA DEHLEEZ will be released on DV by 5th Jan'08.
MERE PAS PAS is being released right after EID.
MAN-O-SALVA, which telecast its last episode..two days back, will be released sometime in early February-08 Her daughter in law...Momina, is now geared up to go for another blockbuster serial soon, said Sultana...who is very happy to receive such highly encouraging remarks on her productions--which I often convey her....and I must say..Sultana Siddiqui is one lady who has really inspired me a lot......and it has been simply great knowing her since late 70's from PTV Karachi....also having worked in some of her serials..and my best with her as Director, was "SHEENA KI KAHANI" the long play based on the true story of Ayesha Alam's life. Shuggu (Arjumand Rahim) played Ayesha's role and I played her Dad---Shah Jalil Alam's role. AYESHA currently..is doing amazing jobs at the first English TV Channel of Pakistan "DAWN" TV and as DJ at Dawn's FM Channel 89.

yep,Momina Duraid is a very talented producer..i like to watch her serials..i guess her another blockbuster serial’ll be Tair la hoti written by Riffat Siraj..

Sure......I am also doing an EID play for ARY....hence I'll revert before EID. *Frankly, I haven't watched a single episode of MAN-O-SALVA, MERE PAS PAS and NAJIAH...but I am amazed as well as delighted that some of the private productions are making waves--thus providing reasons for the entrepreuners---to invest in this industry also.*
