Where are your wedding cards?

hi all,

I know this post is very different to me previous posts…
I was wondering what people do to their wedding cards a few years after marriage. Do you still keep them or do you throw them away?

I kept 2-3 copies of each and recycled the extras

Ive been meaning to frame the Nikah one because its so pretty but just never got around to it yet

Usually I just recycle them shortly after the wedding. If they are really really nice I will stick them in a drawer somewhere, until a few months later when I am cleaning out the drawer and wondering why am I keeping these old cards. If its a close family member or friend then I will keep it otherwise not

Sometimes I cut cute little bits out here and there, sparkling flowers or something, and use them to make little love notes :)

I'd never throw them away. I always tend to keep Birthday cards as well, I've got all of mine from 10 years ago and the rest of them. They're just special reminders of special moments and it's nice reading back on the good wishes and words, so I'd DEFINITELY keep my wedding cards too.

thanks for all replies...unfortunately we had a fire in our house a year after we got married and most things were destroyed included cards etc...but i think I may have a few..

Oh I just realized that I misunderstood your question both times :) First I thought you meant wedding cards that you make to invite people to your own wedding, then I thought you meant wedding cards people give you to invite you to their wedding! After reading Chipkali's message (and getting a little confused at first) I realized you meant cards that people give to you on your own wedding! So let me try to answer your question again for the 3rd time now :) We kept all the wedding cards we received. They are in a gift bag at the top of my closet. Maybe once or twice a year I like to pull them all out and read them over. But I dont think my husband has ever looked at them even once again after the wedding lol

my parents have their cards (from my mom and dads side) attached to their wedding album

thanks for everyones replies...i cannot actually find my wedding cards like i said i think they got destroyed in the fire...but i just wanted to know what others did with their cards after marriage. So it seems like everyone keeps their wedding cards. Just wish I had mine to look at now and then as I do not have many memories of my wedding...anyway thanks

i keep mine! i got this special keep sake box. its really pretty with embordie on it.

i got all my enagement cards as well and i even got the diamond like stones that were in my bouquet and the ribbon! and the flower that my hubby wore on his suit. :D

all memories init coz the day goes by so fast! got to have the little things to memba the little moments!

i dont think we even got mroe than 2 or 3 cards any way so its not a biggie. one of em is still saved though, thats a spechul one :D

ashheaven: your so lucky, I wish I had kept little things to remember, I just didnt think about it at the time, but then later you regret why you didnt keep the memorable things! I dont have any, otherwise I do keep things safe like in a box from now on...I would love to see the special messages family wrote on the cards now and again....oh well what can i do now:(

So, who has their wedding card saved anywhere?

Also, what do you save wedding invites that you get from other people?

I have them saved. Plann to frame them & make this cute little spot where I could put up pictures that mean to me a lot from the wedding. I even saved some favors & the bidh's as a reminder of what it looked like. Have also preserved mine's & hubby's Barat day flower garlands.
