Where are All the Comedians?

Moin Akhtar, and Umer Sharif have dominated the scene for so long. They’re both great, but don’t tell me they’re the only two comedians in the country.

It seems that others just don’t get much of a chance to come out - or there is not much of a venue.

They need to have competition shows for amateur comedians.

Re: Where are All the Comedians?

motiCgudia, why don’t you go to pakistan and take up the comedy roles. I am sure your twisted feminine beliefs will have the oh so sensitive pakistani men rolling on the floor laughing their balls off. :hehe:

Re: Where are All the Comedians?

You are forgetting Hanif Raja, Faisal Qureshi and Faisal Qazi. They are good comedians from the new lot.

Re: Where are All the Comedians?

motiCgudia? O no you dinnint! head horizontally bob-nay wala icon :nono:

Hey! I lost one lb this week.

Re: Where are All the Comedians?

so now you are 267 pounds instead of 268. Big deal.

Re: Where are All the Comedians?

practice makes perfect. patience is a virtue. so on and so forth.

khao meri juti. :snooty:

Re: Where are All the Comedians?

Smoothie bhai, you are kidding me about Faisal Qureshi being a comedian right? The guy is the poster boy for overacting. Really. Faisal Qazi is alright. Haneef Raja is from the previous generation. I thought “Khushia” from Family Front had a lot of potential; I don’t know where he went.

Re: Where are All the Comedians?

Not the hero FQ, but the comedian FQ from Dr. and Billa. He has this whacky sense of humour which is a blend of British and some old 60s action comedy style. He will go a long way if he gets good producers. Yeah Hanif Raja is from the 90s lot but still kicking or I would say more populer on TV then he was 15 years ago.

Re: Where are All the Comedians?

What? Nobody knows Bushra Ansari?

Re: Where are All the Comedians?

Bushra Ansari is cool. Has anyone watched her short play (written by her)? I think the name was "Laadla" but not sure. It was the most funniest, exciting thing I have ever watched. Sadia Imam was hilarious in her role. Played it very well.

Faisal Qureshi is also cool and "Saba Pervaiz" in Family Front was hilarious but not anymore. Now it is not the same quality production it used to be when they started it.

Ohh... my first post with after the "rebirth" of my PC. Feels great!

Re: Where are All the Comedians?

Oh and if I ever got a chance to play the comedian inside me then you would all be ROTFL

Re: Where are All the Comedians?

Pakistani Humor is so yesterday, dry, PG13, and predictable... Wherer are all the new edgier comedians?

Re: Where are All the Comedians?

Geo has started Bano ko Pehchano no Sunday nights at 8 pm ET. It is written by Salman Shahid and had me cracking up at quite a few dialogues :D It is a refreshing change from the boring saas bahoo stupid plays and corny Umar sharif humor.

Re: Where are All the Comedians?

That’s like throwing a deck chair off the titanic… i kid i kid, sorry, it was a cheap shot.

Re: Where are All the Comedians?

:(

Re: Where are All the Comedians?

Faisal Qureshi and his partner in crime Mani are hillariuos for sure. Faisal Qazi is alright too. Hanif Raja makes sporadic appearances these days otherwise he isnt bad either.

Game, khushia is a famous punjabhi stage actor with amanullah gang!

Re: Where are All the Comedians?

yep i gotta agree the never-serious Mani and Faisal Qureshi (of the Ulta Seedha crew) are both quite enjoyable in their own way.. Hanif Raja is basically a mastermind (kinda like Anwer Maqsood is for loose talk) although not all chup chupa kay pranks are really good.. moin akhtar and umer sharif still get the lion's share.. I dunno who Faisal Qazi is so pardon me on that side

Re: Where are All the Comedians?

ahhahahahahahahah :hehe:

I miss Atlanta :frowning:
