Just uploaded some pictures of my latest attempt at eyeshadow. I think i have blended it well but it never seems nice. I don’t know what to do to make it look good.
Any tips, suggestions and constructive criticism welcome
ok, u need to use a primer.. u can get them pretty much anywhere. Id recommend Mary kay and Mac.. they have amazing ones.. they seem to bring out the eyeshadow color and u only have to apply a little bit.. plus it gives ur eyes a good moisture coat before u put shadow on!
yeah using a base/primer n covering ur under eyes would make the eyeshades stand out more and after u get ur eyebrows done they will look nicer and apply the highlighter first all over ur eye so as to have more space for eyeshade
Maybe it would help if you actually defined your eyes in a specific technique to enhance them - i.e. a deeper socket for more depth or smokey look towards corner to intensify eyes or even a darker shadow on the upper socket/bone to lengthen and really enhance the eyes..
Also, a base all-round would also help eyeshadow stand out better - its fair enough to say that a primer would help make the eyeshadow set and stand out better, but the whole look is event better enhanced if u have applied a foundation base on the whole of your face - this doesnt have to be anything heavy or 'cakey' - even if its a light tinted foundation wid a dusting of powder it makes all d difference in enhancing the whole look... oh! and also, concealer dabbed under eye vry lightly can diminish the 'lack of sleep' look that we all have time to time, giving us a better overall makeup base...
Also, for special occasions u can try shaping your eyebrows wid a good pencil to giv it more length or curve/arch and also even apply individual lashes to the corner of your eyes for more of a dramatic style... but if its jus everyday look then two coats of mascara applied on top lashes only would be ideal...
As others have said, use a primer. I don't know what brand eyeshadow you're using, but many drug store varieties require a primer to really "pop." I would suggest urban decay primer potion, it's a mainstay of most makeup artists.
To make your eyes stand out more, apply a darker shade near the outer edge of the eye, and a lighter shade under your eyebrow (subtle, not too outrageous). It gives more dimension.
