It is better to avoid the jalebis, samosas, pikoras, channas, lobias, dahi ballays, gol gappays,…etc and all the other foods that are prepared in the bazaars and hotels. Believe me, during my early life there and with a bit of recent research during my stay there, I realized that our elders were right whenever they used to advice us to avoid eating outside as much as we possibly can, to our level best.
I have personally met people and seen things being prepared in those shops and hotels. Most of the people don’t care about so many things that our relative would definitely take care about, while preparing meal for us. To avoid a long post, I would share just one example;
**The person who was suppose to prepare roti in tanoor, got up from his bed. As he went towards the toilet, clearly his shalwar was wet giving an indication of what happened last night. He came out of the toilet and without washing his hands (in the basin located outside) moved to the front part of the shop and started preparing rotis and paraatas for so many customers, who were of course unaware of what happened. Not to mention the amount of dirt accumulated in their nails, in some cases, unless pointed out by a customer. When you have so many problems of electricity, water, gas…etc. why should we expect a not very religious person to be very hygienic for us when he thinks NO ONE is watching. **
We all know that not all people are like that but those people have a very high percentage, and we don’t have a criteria for checking who is clean and who isn’t.
