I cant ever talk to someone without looking in their eyes, but have always been scolded for not lowering my gaze when saying sorry. Supposedly, lowering your gaze shows youre "ashamed/sharminda" and really mean what you say.. if you're truly sorry you wouldnt have the guts or nerve to look them straight in the eyes.
I still look into the eyes.

When you say sorry ..You look em in the Eyes and say it with confidence .. and never try to built up a story as to why you came to say sorry .. cos they aint gona listen to ya ..

You can't manipulate someone well without looking into their eyes....

I simply go and hug them. Thats my gesture of opology. So far i didnt really have to say sorry to many people. It has been my mother or my siblings mostly. Yep if its brother, and i have to say sorry, i lower my gaze

i can barely look anyone in the eye when talking, it just feels so uncomfortable to me. But with a professor or anyone else interviewing me, ill try my best to make eye contact.
