When you perform pilgrimage, do you do a direct itinerary from Origin-KSA-Origin, or do you make use of the opportunity and travel further east and visit home country? What are the pros/cons of either itinerary from your experience. All suggestions, tips, recommendations are welcome.
Wailikum Sallam Teggy!..well bro i am insha'allah will be going for umrah next year. I would prefer to go Pak on my way from Saudia Arabia. I think normally people do that eh. They go to Pak after umrah or hajj and come back to the country where they live.
Yes, inshaAllah. The intention is present, will make all the necessary arrangements to make it happen; rest is up to Allah.
JazakAllah Khairan, Xtron. Isn’t that a hassle though? Because you have to lug all your luggage around with you, then carry even more fwd to Pakistan on top of the original luggage (if you get ZamZam, etc for family/relatives, etc.)?

walaikumussalam
BIG B went with his wife last year, he came back to Pakistan performed hajj and return was in Pakistan and then returned back to USA, zamzam is now limited to an average bottle, so you don't have problem.
What is the longest allowable period you can stay in KSA on either a Hajj or Umrah visa. From experience please. And during that time, are you allowed to freely move about other cities besides Makkah/Madinah?

The hajj visas are issued from middle of shawal...every hajji must leave before 10th of Muharram.
I don't think you can move about other cities. Let me ask my friend and will confirm with you.

I was in Saudi in 2003 on Umrah visa and was told I cannot travel outside Jeddah, Makkah and Madina. I wanted to visit extended family in Riyadh and Dammam. You need separate paperwork for it. Not sure if it has changed now.

No you can't visit other cities on Umrah/Hajj visa.
JazakAllah Khair for that information, and thank you in advance for asking your friend. It’s much appreciated. The reason I asked that was because on some websites it says that Umrah visa is typically valid for 30 days, but it doesn’t mean you can stay for 30 days, and most operators that organize everything for you get you a two week stay. So just wanted some clarification on that. And if that’s also the case with Hajj visas. (Actual validity vs. what you’ll actually end up getting)
JazakAllah Khair. I was thinking from the same aspect, like if you want to visit others or just go sightseeing, etc.
JazakAllah Khair.
Is it then possible to have two visas simultaneously, or one after the other? I’m not even sure if that’s allowed.
Thank you all for your feedback. I’m sorry, I realize some of these are petty questions.
If you want to visit other areas too, get visit visa. You can go for Umrah on visit visa.
But getting a visit visa isn’t easy. I’m not sure, but I think you need relatives here to get visit visa. Talk to the embassy and get the details.
