why is he/she intimated by you???

maybe she/he is shy...lol

you just need to be the one to make first conversation..everytime you see him/her smile and go up to him/her and ask them about their day..how he/she is doing..etc :)

u know that is so right.
and since i have less time, and more work, i think that i should
be the bold one.
and make all kinds of normal efforts.
the person in question is doing well..
but, i cannot really go up to that person.
(its kind a scary for me too)

just keep on talking to them .. try to find common interest and make them feel at home..
