I think if the muslim elite,..educated masses even, stopped the bitching and took care of their own economies, pushed though democratic ideals and stopped striving for some 'pie in the sky" ideal from centuries past and instead looked at the future...that will be the right way of thinking.
CH dear, one should never have to "beg" for mercy and bow to the US for basic human rights, and needs.. I don't want to focus this discussion on the problems individually from a geographical perspective, as they have been and are being discussed in other threads. It's definitely not some "pie in the sky" . Vying to establish an Islamic kingdom is one thing but, for majority of us, it's a matter of right to express, refute and hold our governments accountable to serve their own masses and interests, and have the same unilateral voice on global arena. The initiation of this would be to walk away from the organizations such as the UN, which is prostituted over and over again, to serve the US interests and mostly wage war against Muslims. To me that seems to be the most sane and right way of thinking.
national pride is very important. but the ability to have such a pride is a prequalifier. it's all well and good to want to resist the US but infortunately there are many skeletons stashed away over decades in pakistan that need to be cleaned up before being able to resist.
I don't think the problem facing the pakistanis is the same as the problem facing pakistan. the pakistanis have the same kind of problems we Indians have.
pakistan as a govt and a country has an identity that's different from its people. pakistan is the name of a military force, devoid of people power. in that respect, I don't believe they share the same problems that arabic nations or muslim communities face elsewhere in the world. no israeli tanks have rolled into pakistan. no russian forces have come to quelch rebellion in muslim districts of pakistan.
pakistan's problems are different from the problems of muslims. they are self-made however.

I am very glad to hear that you dont support terrorism but just read these posts above,you would think the US was about to attack Pakistan and every other muslim nation under the sun,is that really true,because i dont think so.
I just wish i knew what the muslim nations did want and how they think they are going to get it by opposing the US,that is just what the muslim terrorists are doing,now you say they are idiots,why not oppose your own leaders instead of some other countries leaders,that would make more sence would it not?

i think it is silly to oppose the US we should use the west and its teaching and blend all thier good qualities into our own culture. we should be more open with the rest of the world and i agree the Pakistan should order its people to disband Millitancy and Extreeme practice of Islam. What did the Taliban and Bin-laden bring Afganistan, and how has bin-laden helped islam by blowing up a great building that allowed open world trade. All terrorists are cowards who use the firm belife of naive young muslims to their advantage. My question to all Bin-Laden supporters if Bin-laden belive's in his so called war agianst the west why did he not attack them him self.. Coward!!!

Outlaw that common voice that you want to find and use is elusive only because of the fundamental basis being religion. Take malaysia for example...
Hindus, buddhist, christians and muslims in Malaysia have a lot more in common than Maysian and Arab muslims. heir comonalities go back thousands of years rather than 1200 years for islam. Until., this point is not resolved, whether through driving out the other religions or relocating the muslims in malyaisa to Arabis...there will be no one ummah.
