When will our last moment be?

When will our last moment be?

The following are two short clips from videos captured before and during the moments of death of our beloved sister Rania and brother Cheick Tiote who died suddenly during Ramadan 2017.

**Sister Rania: **

The following clip was captured on mobile and were the last moments of our beloved sister Rania before she, her children and other residents in her flat at Grenfell tower, Kensington, Uk, were overcome by a blazing fire on 19th Ramadan 2017.

Brother Cheick Tiote:

International Muslim footballer Cheick Tiote dies Suddenly during training in China on 10th Ramadan 2017.

When our brother and sister above woke up that morning did they think they were going to die that day? Do any of us think our souls will be taken any second whilst we go about our daily lives?

Their deaths and many others around us each day should be a constant reminder to us about the uncertainty of life and how we too can die at any second. We keep fooling ourselves into thinking “It wont happen to me yet”, but this is a pure deception as none of those who died suddenly thought it will be their last moment. We plan our future far head yet tomorrow is not certain for us.

Make the change before it is too late:

As we approach the end of this blessed month, we should thank Allah for giving us the opportunity to be alive to experience this month. But most importantly we must make the best of the blessings of this month and its purpose which is to change our lives for the better and to get closer to Allah all year around. The best opportunity to change is now, as tomorrow may never come.

Therefore let us make a firm commitment to Allah that we will let go of our major sins and try our best to obey and please him from this moment onwards so that he may forgive us for all of our sins and give us a fresh start like that of a newborn baby. If we keep fooling ourselves thinking we have time then we will be like how Allah describes:

They will cry out in Hell and say: “Our Lord, let us out so that we may act righteously, different from what we did before.” (They will be told): “Did we not grant you an age long enough for anyone to take heed if he had wanted to take heed? Besides, there came a warner to you. So have a taste of the torment now. None may come to the help of the wrong-doers.” (Surah Fatir, 37)

May Allah give all the Muslims who died during this month Jannatul Firdaus and enable us to learn from their deaths so that we may take action to change our lives for the better from this moment onwards. Ameen
