Well first of all, I never carry anyone’s stuff without personally seeing it and see them pack in front of me. That’s just something my dad has taught us (he has worked in airlines for years). I ask the person giving me their things is it okay if I check what’s in their package. People understand that and a lot of people actually do this. I never carry anything that I’ll have to answer to the authority for. Like medicines, gold, money etc.
And when I know there is going to be an issue of people giving me packages and packages, I tell people that my suitcases are already full and that’s all I can carry. People are really inconsiderate. They don’t think how much trouble it can be for a person already tensed about long flights and travel. I just simply tell everyone that my suitcases are full. I understand that its too late now, but for next time make it clear to your husband that you won’t take other’s stuff no matter who they are. Heck, your flight can get delayed and what if they off load your luggage and tell you to re-check in. I never take chances.
ESPECIALLY if you’re flying with a child. Gosh, there is soooo much stuff you may need to take, including heavy things like milk and water. Also, are you flying alone or with hubby?
