administrative fees, roundup charge, per call fixed charge, term charge (e.g. certain charge per week/month). Most of these should be Zero.

Make sure there's no time limit on when to use the card by, make sure there's no maintenance charge..........

We've not used them for ages as in the UK there were loads of numbers that you could use with your free mobile minutes, but recently these have all stopped :( so we've gone back to using calling cards.

Hubby just found out about a prepay scheme caklled "Topup Now" where you top up in advance and call charges are 1p per min to India/Pakistan...and no time limit or admin charge.

Connection and khaas tor pe minutes. These days I am using a card which costs me $2 and gives me about 1 hr and 45 minutes for Pakistan. I remember a time, few years back, when a good $5 card would give like 40 minutes and now $2 ones gives twice as much. And the connection is good too.

I can actually remember a time when it was $1.20 per minute. That was such an ouch. And no skype back then either :(

There must be long distance companies now that offer low rates, like now it's 6.9cents/minute..to pak from canada.

Also, we just signed up with this company that's offereing $2/call and talk as much as you want.. will see when we get the bill :D

When one is sitting on the other side of the world, away from loved ones, for the first time in their life with no one to talk to $1.20/mnt doesn't seem all that much

you know that they charge £1.50 for the first call you make on a premium rate number.. :p the 0901 number that is..
