I earn a little bit more than my hubby, tho his job probably will allow for greater salary increase than mine.

Anyway, he jokes about it occasionally, but otherwise I don't think he minds at all. We share everything, so it doesn't matter who is bringing what.

I think if it was a HUGE difference he might feel like he wasn't doing enough, like it should at least be close to even, but I'm not sure.

Agree.

for me, marriage is based on respect for my spouse and giving her the due status this relation demands irrespective of the fact, I am a man, earning more or less or anything else. For me, my wife will be a wife, even if I earn more or less and she will get the same level of respect in any case.

y would anybody be jealous if his wife is getting more paid?.. why get married to such person from whom ull get jealous from earning in the first place?

I see no point of jealousy. When your married your more like a team now anyways, and both are working to support yourselves and your kids. In my case I am earning more right now, but my husband is working really hard and trying to get a better job. You should rather support each other in success/failures and root the other person on.
