cupcake, i hve a gud 3 yrs infront of me…my engagement is sumtym next yr…& wedding atleast a year and a half after that..n my moms killing me with all her preparations jus for the engagement.. god knows how i will endure her during my wedding.. :bummer:

just sent you a PM. And I know what you mean! I talk to my mom but she doesn't like to since she knows I'm not getting married anytime soon. I talk to my best friend & fiancé about it. The latter of the two finds it cute, he even called up a bridal store in Lahore to find out more info. I just knew he was Mr. Right at that moment, lol. Oh and another 3-4 years because I'm 19. I gotta finish off my undergrad first. In my family the girl has to be atleast 23-25 to get married.

I know exactly how you feel! I go away for uni and every weekend i’m back my mum’s like buzzing around me with wedding talk..lol one point i actually got her to stop talking about wedding tho..she was talking about how guests who are travelling from like another city..and she was like where are they going to sleep..and i was like well we’ll have to accomodate them..and then she was like oh no but i’ll have to make breakfast lunch and dinner..and i was like well what can you do it’s a wedding and she was like tired from just thinking about it LOL and then she was like go away i dont wanna talk wedding no more! I was like haaaa!

At least you’ve got an engagement next year so it will look sensible planning now!

Awww...my fiance used to find it sweet but i think now he's just gettin a bit annoyed of it but he never says he is..bless :) awww that's cute that he phoned another store up! awwwwwwww cute :) i'm the first girl to be getting married but the reason we're waiting another two years is because we both have degrees to finish off and both sets of parents don't want us to get married till he has a job and can provide :) i would have been fine living of student loans LOL but that's just me..i just wanna get married ASAP..but Mum also has to save up for my wedding..so it's a mixture of financial circumstances and erm degree finishing :)

Sometimes i feel awkward talking to friends because i;m the only one who's going to get married and they're all single..and i feel like i'm going on and on! Especially when the wedding is two years away! Inshallah! x

aww atleast u got her to stop with all the “cooking” stuff…my mom rarely cooks.. she has a cook do all the regular cooking.. and wenever we hv guests she makes me cook :bummer: the only one who can make her stop is my dad by saying he wont pay for anything shes scheming.. he actually calls her planning..scheming.. lol..m rilli scared abt the accomodation of my guests too.. i hv got so many relatives who live out of town/abroad :bummer: n knowing my mom she’ll make me cook 4 them.. aaahhh.. i’ll make dem stay at some guest house :halo:

haha i've been planning it since i was like 17 :P
the moment i bring it up with my mom she gives me a weird look and says too early :P haha

Poor you arsh! Ditto with the cooking! LOL :( yeh i've got a few families travelling from another city :( but we're trying to think of a way around this!

maham87 are you getting married anytime soon? is there a reason for your mum to say too early..usually that's what i say to my mum!

My wedding isn't till Jan 2012, but the planning is underway !

It's awesome to have so much time - you can plan and make the event soo nice every day I get new ideas and write them down and yeha =)

Really? Awww your right..i think of new stuff daily and write it down but i'm thinking really slowly..i havent done any major things like venues/MUA etc..only what i want to wear LOL

i guess its good to plan ahead..that way u dont hve much to stress about.. i live in Bangladesh and here the venues r such a hassle.. if u want the good venues u need to book atleast a year n half ahead...

@cupcake.. i hve already decided on the colors i want 4 my wedding.. and when my future hubby asks me what i decided for him.. i say : i dunno ..watever u want..jus dnt wear anything 2 mess up MY WEDDING!

LOL i think exactly that! I say to him your going to wear this that and this lol..whatever i say goes! :P hehe he knows i know what's best :D lol i've got a rough idea of what outfits i want :) but i havent thought of what kind of kaam/design of embroidery i want..i don't know how to or where to get ideas from. I've seen on this site that people planned their weddings for about two years so i think maybe by the end of this year i should have a rough idea right?

if it was next month i wouldnt even be here.. i would be frantically pacing n yelling at everyone to do the task i set them to do ( in my family nothing gets done until u really yell at everyone that IT IS SERIOUS ...they usually mess up everything)..
i'm gonna be such a bridezilla!

@cupcake .. lol wenever i start talkin abt wedding he's like "whatever u want" ..i hvnt decided on anything other thn the colors and that am gonna be a bunto bride :) (still dunno abt the walima) .. i just finished with my fashion designing course.. and i remember a class where our professor asked us to sketch any kind of gown or anything we want.. ( i guess she was rilli sleepy or sthg) some ppl drew evening gowns...some did pant suits & wen finally she came to me she found a green bridal lehenga.. along with all the chooriyan n teeka everything.. n she was like " what the hell is that" ..i sed "thats me" ..that dragon cant tolerate me after that!

awwwwwwwww at arsf…sweet discussion going on.. i m another wedding maniac :smack: nothing is planned no engagement no wedding but would be finalisdn yr or nxt and when it happens its going to be jhat mangni pat bayah thingii..
I too am realy excited from now itself… only whts planned so far is my valima dress :smiley: wud think abt everything else later …its my day so atleast i should be perfect grinss*
so far wud be a karma bride on valima.. unsure if i change my mind later lol
tho m new here but been reading many threads here most of the time on all my weekends..

yup.. a bride shud be perfect on her wedding day ( watever means perfect to the bride that is)..thats all that matters… awwi love GS and i love chattering… i think i started posting after abt a month from wen i joined ( coz i had finals going on) but i seem to come bak here everyday..
