When istikhara is done, is it just my own mind hoping for it or is it Allah guiding me? I must have prayed this dua so much before I went to sleep the whole time after I met this guy, with so much passion, I got this clear dream that I was married/in a relationship with this person, so is it just my own hoping for it or is it Allah giving me a clear response and guiding me towardS this route towards this person?

I personally think once you have done extensive dua for Allah to guide you, then it is Allah showing you the path because you don't have control over your dreams. Though, your own personal preference do play a little role about what you see in the dream. For example, if you see yourself happy with that person, and have positive thoughts about the person, chances are you will see a positive dream.
I think as long as you have inner satisfaction that the step you're about to take is in your benefit, Allah will guide you through.

I want to be married to him but I haven't had positive thoughts about it so this is the very reason I was asking for guidance from the Almighty. So it was really surprising that even if I was being really pessimistic and negative abt it because of my own insecurities, I had a dream I was married to him and it felt right.
At what point do we see it as thoughts in the back of our mind and when do we see it as Allah showing us the way. I'm super confused. I don't want to be dreamy and clueless and think it is Allah helping me and then find out that this person didn't even care and was going to marry someone else all along. ItS frustrating.
Has anyone had istikhara work for them?

Thanks Lethal Kamikaze for responding. It just felt natural and normal which is usually not the way any dream feels for me. I usually can't sleep and I always feel this frustration that's why this dream felt so completely strange and out the ordinary for me.
Have you or anyone you know personally done the Istikhara and had results? How did it turn out?

a minutest hindrance in a istakhara turns out to be a big problem . so if there isn't any then only you should think about making choices.
one of my college fellows saw a room with red rose petals. and her hubby died soon after marriage and there were red rose petals in her room.

What do you mean by your first paragragh? I didnt understand. What does that mean that she saw red rose petal in the dream. The wedding night is bound to have red roses and red petals on the bed.
Color wise I could only remember dull green but I can faintly remember it now.

I read two rakat Nafl namaaz and at the end of namaaz I make dua to Almighty Allah for guidance. After that I go to that situation and if everything went smoothly then I thanks to Almighty Allah. If not then I become more thankful to Almighty Allah for not straying me.

yes red rose petals; but actually they were laid on his funeral day.

i have done istikhara , i was having problem in taking decision whether to take admission in MS, or llb or do css or job ... i was attracted to do css then i did istikhara and i see a car infront of me iam not confirm abt that the color of car was black i think so 50 50 so whats the result iam confused?
