Has anyone experienced being led on for months for a rishta because the male side somehow got your hopes going eventhough they didn’t like you from the first meeting. Do people really lead others on. Why can’t they simply reject?

They're keeping their options open. The whole didn't like on the first meeting is more of the way people downplay their interest while hoping to get some better offer. It's gross and people should be upfront.

^ Yah that pretty much sums it up.. sometimes it can also be because rejecting a rishta is just uncomfortable.
But other times, they are just waiting long enough to see if there's a better rishta (according to them) that comes along.

B/C most don't think that a girl's side is stupid enough to stop searching just b/c they went over for a meeting.
The guy's side did not get your hopes up. YOU got your hopes up and CHOSE to stop searching. In a arranged rishta, there are no expectations. You continue searching and meeting families UNTIL a family has officially sent a rishta offer. Don't ASSUME anything.

Sometimes its just difficult to decide. Some family members like, others dont and it becomes a tussle.
