It is you that is brainwashed to think you know it all. Your propensity to mix religion and spirituality with violence does not mean it translates to the teachings of Jesus or those who think violence does not have any religious justifications.

Those who follow prophets of violence always use Matthew 10:34-36 to try to imply Jesus was anything but the Prince of Peace. Never I had heard that passage interpreted by a Christian to mean anything other than it was Jesus' way of saying his message would result in strife, but that wasn't his purpose.

The New Testament is filled with Jesus' message of peace, tolerance, love and forgiveness. To try to trump that with a couple of misinterpreted passages is pathetic. I suppose it is a way to make you feel better about following prophets who advocated violence and killing.
