^ I understand that everyone is different. But I’ve seen students…real responsible and academically bright kids…who DO have extracurricular interests…develop a crush. They may not act on it…or pursue it aggressively. But it’s not like they have to choose between their extracurricular activies and a crush. In life…people can go about a variety of tasks and sentiments.

If they have crush at this early age then they are dumb. Dumbness has many varieties , academically bright students are very very dumb in this area. They are looking for social acceptance and try to look cool by pretending to have a crush. :D:

yea mirch, bollywood/soaps/movies become the scapegoat for anything that kids do differently.

hain na ? iCarly and Hannah Montana are so innocent shows. Teach many good values to kids of these days. Love for parents , love for friends, helping family , helping friends, sharing and caring are always the topics of those show. No ?

I've never had a crush to gain social acceptance. I remember when I taught preschool, I noticed a few crushes. And the 4-year-olds did not know much about social acceptance.....or that they are supposed to have a crush.....in order to fit in. The crush wasn't announced to the world....but you could see it in their interactions. It doesn't always have to be announced.
While social acceptance MAY be the reason for SOME kids to develop a crush...........I wouldn't dump all kids in this cattegory. Things are not so black and white. And in some cases......a person might fall for someone that their peers/culture/society may not approve of.......so "social acceptance" is not the motivation here.

icarly is not a clean show. no no! :( ive come across a scene. it's a dirty show. so is spongebob. when kids add 2 and 2 together they're minds become corrupt. 2(school/outside environment + 2(tv/movies) = corrupt mind!

I usd to agree with you. But I think I agree with above. Kids love properly and we are then conditioned into semi numbness. So we can not possibly understand how/why.
kids can fall in love with blankets. Cry for them mourn for them. so why not each other?

**Its human nature for opposite sexes to be attracted to each other if enough time is spent together. The media is just a small aspect of it.
If for example there was no media, do you really think little 10 year olds would stop having crushes on one another?? NO!! Its not that big of a deal as long as parents watch out and keep an eye on the kids.
And they think its love, but obviously its just a crush or their hormones are going a little crazy. **
I always get amused when people talk about love, they usually end up going their own ways or getting married & then divorced. It's just an illusion, or a state of mind or some combination of both, total waste of time.

i fell in love when i was 11.
I fell in love when I was around 7 or 8 during summer vacation that year. that's when we got the VHS tapes of Tanhaayian and I saw the love of my life.
beat that all you underachievers falling in love at 11 or whatever... losers.

love has no age, it can come at anytime... though i didnt fall in love as early as 10 - plenty of crushes all...truly fell in love when i was 17
