OMG, not SINGING and even worse, DANCING, GASP! Tell them to stop that nonsense immediately and concentrate on becoming doctors and engineers.
My sentiments exactly.
Yeah right unhain bahar dhoop main khara kar kay murgha bana do. I am sure Aahmed and PureSunlight are just kidding. If not then they both do not have any experience dealing with kids or raising kids.
haha Iconoclast. My niece is obsessed with being a rockstar nowadays thanks to Hannah Montana and co. so this once her parents asked her what she aspired to be and of course she said a rockstar. but baaj and bro-in-law made it clear to her that it was ok as a hobby and for fun but not as a career so she needs to get that out of her mind. So all of us time to time keep talking about how education is must along with a non-entertainment industry career just so she knows that making a career out of singing is not an option.
common singers and actors make more money than most schooled persons, then what's the point in being schooled for 25/26 years and still earning less money than crazy rockstars? If the parents can allow her being a rockstar for fun and as a hobby then why can't they allow her to make this hobby her career in the future?
i wanna be a rockstar
girls will come easy and drugs will coem cheap
i'll stay skinny coz i just won't eat
i wanna be a rockstar
Not that i'm particularly a fan of that song or the band that sings it, I would like to add that if you look past the surface, you'd realize that song is actually tongue in cheek making fun of the "rockstar" lifestyle.

It appears, based on your above post, that you are not secure enough to have an opinion and support that opinion without resorting to name calling. I think children do that with one another. They are children. What is your excuse?
As far as the kids dancing and singing issue is concerned, I will say that if you stifle your children enough, you may just push them in the exact opposite direction. Then, you can sit there and blame the west and everything else but your parenting style.
If you want to empower the rock bands and other external influences by setting boundaries to the point where your child is not allowed access to or is allowed to engage in everyday, normal, part of growing up creativity then you are either:
They are always attracted to music and dancing, especially in young age.
PS. barey honay ke baad agar un ke interests doosri taraf kara diye jaayein to woh itna nahi aatey music ki taraf, woh sirf fun ki had tak hi reh jaaye gaa.
