At 17, I moved from Africa to India and started college (actually at 16), and it was a totally new experience for me. I was in boarding school, had a blast :D] and was quite responsible actually 
.
At that age, I saw my future as a successful career woman with a happy family. Many years later, I can say that I did have a successful career and do have a happy family life mashaAllah.

i think i was in HS at that time 
nonetheless, i dont think anything major happened when i was 17. all i used to do was sleep, study and eat.

i was ugly, naive and dumb at 17.
i planned and dreamed but life took a different turn than i had thought of or planned of.It took me a while to settle down but i am somewhere than being totally lost.

I was really ugly, fat, and dumb at 17 . Today I am hot, skinnny, and well educated.!

At 17 I was skinnier and had bluer eyes and blonder hair than I do now. :D

I was in boarding school in the UK, wanted to take a gap year to travel the world, but got accepted to the right school and had to prep for the IB.
The closest I came to girls, was crashing a beauty pageant and almost getting expelled.

Okay in all seriousness? At 17 I thought I knew everything about life, and I knew what my life would turn out like.
Alhumdulillah as a (kind of) adult, things are very very very different now, the life I envisioned for myself is totally different than how it turned out and I'm happy it did. :)

I was in the midst of shifting back to PAK after spending my precioius teen years in some remote country…and yeah…studying and coming to terms with family issues ..

At 17 I was still young and very fast. I would have been about to begin my career as a soldier... and what a disapointment that was...:(
All my life I'd been preparing for becoming a great warrior, raised up on Islamic martial ideals passed down through generations of warriors, and it all went off the wall in a few bloodswept years.
True I achieved much success at a personal level and nobody could say we failed but something was not right. We won every battle but still lost the war... our victories were pyhrric and our losses beyond all reason.
But if I could turn the clock back to my 17 year I will also remmber the joys of being young... and living with fammily members that have long sinced passed this world.
Those days were happy days and the future seemed certain, but fate is cruel and now nothing seems certian.

At 17, I was naive and bold. Now, I am still naive but not bold..

I was one of those weirdo kids that get sent to university a little bit before the norm. So at 17 I was second year into a degree, the dorkiest looking student you ever saw; thick glasses, curly hair, ankle swinger trousers. Also, because I worked evenings in a cheese factory, I smelt a bit of cheese. Seriously.

I've made it to the destination I hoped for, but the journey was most definitely not as expected.

Never want to be 17 again
