I mean the stuff u get from a takeout/restaurant…let’s say you go somewhere where the food is normally fine..you get it to go, and come home and its just..not what you paid for.
How many of you would actually go back right away and tell them what was wrong with it? Or wait until another time you were there? or would you call them up right away adn tell them how bad it was? OR would you just leave it and go on with your life?
well what happened was that I went to this place that's usually pretty decent..and its already quite popular..anyways so I had biryani, which is normally good but from yesterday it was raw and there was NO BOTI. :( so Im thinking I should complain to em, either in person or on the phone but..i dunno. im being a wuss about it lol.
but what difference does it make if I stop going there? Its quite a popular place and I don’t think they’d care if I complained. but I feel cheated out of my money..however “little” it was.
how strange , here in the UK , we go running back to the shop to complain and if they dare not listen to us we write them a letter of complaint officially and then record all their replies and complain to the quality enforcement authorities !
I did that with two restaurants last year ... and as far as fear of spit or what ever ... what proof do you have that the food you are eating doesnt have any mice droppings in it! most retaurants dont care about hygiene anyways ... but if you suspect someone of doing it ... then dont hesitate to complain .. this is not pakistan where anyone can get away with what ever !
I have never complained about food but I get complaints at my work at least once a week regarding the restaurant's food and most of the time all they want is free food for future to be compensated for something or another!! beyond my understanding!
I have once called the desi grocery store regarding the "dhoka" they did to us.. we drove over an hour to get the halal/zabiha chicken/mutton etc with a good price (it's usually triple the average price where we live) but when we got home and I was putting stuff away I noticed they didnt give us the complete order.. I thought it must be a mistake and didnt make a big deal out of it.. a month later, same thing happened.. they charged us more and was missing the goat meat! I called them up and "khari khari suna" the owner! He apologized, and told me that he will add it in my order next time.. we never went back there and I made that clear to him!
Always Always without fail, mind you we dont return in a hurry after that. Just recently we were in Pak and ordered Matai baskets to give to my sister in laws family during the wedding, and told them what not to include. well they must have thought once we had given it who was going to see and say anything, well as luck would have it, they told us that at the bottom of the basket they had over 30 blocks of that hard halva type (which we had specified not to put in)
well we went back and gave them a right rollocking in front of the owner, needless to say they apologised.
Well done , I think its important to report these things otherwise the restaurants or shops can do the same trick to many other users and believe me they do manage to get away with their chalakian
when i was expecting and wasn’t able to cook.. husband brought food from a restaurant it was butter chicken with kabab and naan nothing was eatable it wasn’t cooked properly and tasted REALLLYY bad.. we threw it away had jam and bread and went to sleep ofcourse my craving for butter chicken got stronger but i got over it..
I dont go back to restaurant to tell them whats wrong. I normally give restaurant one more chance before stop going there.
begum on the other hand not only take the food back (if she is still in the area) and tells pretty much in details whats wrong in the food. (I dont company her on such trips and stay in car) She some times get goodies/free lunches in response, that I happily share :D
