When does it start getting crowded for the baby ..

So far, mashallah the baby’s been a mini storm and I could feel his kicking getting powerful by the day and movement just became chaotic !

Now he’s starting to chill out .. occasionally I get worried , coz obviously going through this experience first time, when he doesnt move as much I start getting worried that maybe he isnt feeling too well etc etc ..

I want to hear some real experiences from you wonderful friends here . internet is telling me all sorts of stuff and its so confusing :emmy:

Until when did you feel the baby actively kicking? when did it start slowing down? when the baby gets crowded does he still kick? how much movement to expect in the last two months? etc etc ..

Many thanks ..

Re: When does it start getting crowded for the baby ..

well in my case last 2 months movements were most frequent , but i think depends on baby to baby, if i was not able to feel her i used to move my hand over my tummy n thn yeah she used to kick me n tell me everything is fine inside, i m just sleeping lolz

Re: When does it start getting crowded for the baby ..

My OB said if baby is not moving and I m worried drink chilled class of water and lie down ... If i feelfeel 4 kicks in an hour every thing is good... I have tried it and it works :)

Re: When does it start getting crowded for the baby ..

I was told to feel atleast 10 kicks in a day. The hospital even gave the kick chart in 3rd trimester :D

Re: When does it start getting crowded for the baby ..

towards the very end, he was still kicking but they were much more gentle, and the day he stopped kicking entirely and wouldn't respond to ice water, oj, or headphones on my belly, was the day i went in for a checkup to see what was up and he was born the next afternoon!

but by then, i had gotten used to his active times and his sleeping times so i kind of knew when to expect a lot of activity. have you seen a pattern of some sort so far?

if you are worried, drink a glass of something sweet and wait for the kicking to pick up. my OB said ice water or orange juice should do the trick.

Re: When does it start getting crowded for the baby ..

thanks guys .. midwife said there is nothing to worry about .. there is so far no pattern , its almost all day long with very little intervals of quietness …

I think I get worried unnecessarily and to eliminate that I wanted to hear from you ladies about what to expect ..
The thing is , once the baby gets bigger and feels crowded how is he still able to kick at the same pace as he was doing previously when he had enough space?

you know when i said he’s chilled out a bit .. he doesnt kick as heard but I can feel his movements like that snakey feeling , infact I can even see my tummy moving about :cb: but yes he isnt kicking as hard since a few days ..

Re: When does it start getting crowded for the baby ..

Ahwwww this thread is to cute :D

i remember that my sis called me up on 03.00 to tell that the baby got hick-ups and she could see move her tummy up n down hihi

Re: When does it start getting crowded for the baby ..

I used to chart all the movements my son makes and yeah got really worried when he wasnt kicking or moving much...but some days are lazy days for the babies and some days they are more alert and active...

Re: When does it start getting crowded for the baby ..

Mine was like some thing rolling slowly in the tummy and near due date the rolling feeling is more in the night than the day…

Re: When does it start getting crowded for the baby ..

my first baby used to give me the same scares.

the midwife advised that i lay down (with the back raised with some pillows) and drink orange juice. If i cant count 10/20 (i cant remember which one) movements in 2 hours post juice then i'd have to come to the hospital... most times it worked expect the one time where i registered no movements at all... went to the hospital but all was well Alhumdulillah.

Re: When does it start getting crowded for the baby ..

my baby was extremely active since 20 weeks Mashallah. however in the last 2 months the activity became less and less. i could still feel him, but his kicks were very feeble and less frequent. i told my Ob and he said the same thing. drink lots of fluid and lay down on your left side ( or was it right ?) and count the movements. there should be 6 or more in the hour. but he also said its ok for the baby to have a slow day every now and then since it gets cramped inside the womb in the last 2 months. something else that i tried was to gently prod my stomach with my finger when he wasn't moving, and he usually responded back with a kick or nudge :P
