So i have told only a few close friends about it. everyone is telling me to wait till the end of first trimster to tell everyone but its just so hard to keep it a secret. how long did you guys wait to tell friends?

After the first trimester definitely. I had a history of repeated miscarriages…forget friends, other than our parents, we didn’t tell anybody until I was well into 4th month..

Same only the parents knew until I started my fourth month.

oh no, i have already started telling some friends. i had to tell them because i kept cancelling plans to go out with them because of my horrible nausea and didn’t feel like lying and making up excuses.. this is my first pregnancy so i didnt really think of the possibility of miscarriage until recently when i joined babycenter forum. its not just me, but my husband cannot keep anything to himself either. he told his entire family including cousins, aunts uncles.
I’m sure you’ll be fine. Like I said, I had repeated miscarriages, the first time we got pregnant I found out at 6-7 weeks and we told everyone. When we got pregnant again, we kept it to ourselves…once I found out about my fertility issues and staring going through invasive procedures we were extremely tight lipped and yes,missed out on a lot of family and social events, some by choice some out of majboori.

First time, I told my close girlfriends at 7 weeks pretty much when I found out. This time, the sickness kept me home and confined so by the time I saw them and told them I was already 12 weeks I think.

I told everyone the second the test was positive 
Now, I think I would wait a long time before telling…I joked with my friends that they’ll find out when I post the kid’s picture to FB but I probably wouldnt’ do that bc I’d want the baby shower and attention beforeahnd

i didn’t call anyone to specifically tell them but i told my friends who i meet regularly. i felt if i were to wait longer to tell them, they might feel upset why i waited this long and as if i dont trust them.. also its my first time so its really hard to keep it a secret. but now my MIL is telling me i should have waited till i hit 13-14 weeks.

^ It’s pretty common for people to wait until after 12 weeks to announce, I’d explain it to them that it’s nothing personal…

meh. It’s not your mil’s baby - I say do what you are comfortable with and that’s all. Telling people sooner isn’t going to change things per se- iA it will be a healthy pregnancy!

Wow, it seems everyone can’t wait to share the news.
I’m the total opposite. I’m a very private person so I don’t tell relatives and friends until it is so obvious that I just can’t hide it any more. My preference would be to not tell anyone until the baby is born (i would just love to surprise people like that), but I’m not a hermit, so that is just not physically possible! lol
I’m almost 12 weeks now and I’m going to keep it a secret for as long as I can! I think last pregnancy most people found out when I was 20 weeks. A few people guessed it before that though.

First pregnancy.. As soon as I found out, I told everyone!
Second pregnancy.. I told a few close friends but didn’t feel comfortable so mostly people found out around 20 weeks or if they saw me.. Yet there were some who found out when I shared the birth announcement on Facebook.. I got several messages from old friends n colleagues saying they had no idea I was pregnant..I kind of felt bad but honestly never had the opportunity to share so I didn’t!

Parent and close friends at 8 weeks (when we found out,) and everyone else after the first trimester.

My closest friends knew from the onset, as it was a surprise pregnancy and they had access to my blog where I was shocked. I told noone else till I literally delivered and the world came to know.

I must be super secretive - I told extended family (aunts and cousins etc) after I’d had the 12 week scan, and only just got round to telling my friends - at 7 months haha!

How do you hide it though? Don’t you see your family/friends usually or are you sporting a disguiseable bump?

Small bump. When I told friends they couldn’t believe it. I guess they thought I’d only put on a few post marriage pounds lol.
