When did you start gaming and how long do you see yourself gaming?

My gaming started back in my early high school days. I’d play mostly consoles games, and owned Sega consoles only until after University and getting my first real job. I had a brief pause with the hobby in the Saturn/Playstation/N64 generation, when I didn’t buy any consoles and played a few PC titles here and there. Most notably Sierra games and some strategy games. Then in the Dreamcast/PS2/XBox/Gamecube generation, I bought all the consoles. The following generations, the XBox consoles have been my consoles of choice, with the Nintendo consoles being my secondary consoles. Over the years, gaming (particularly console gaming) has taken up pretty much all of my entertainment market share. So I’ve pretty much cut out movies and TV in favor of gaming.

As for how much I see myself gaming in the future…well I’d guess that it’s a hobby that I’ll share with the kids. I don’t see any end of it in sight per se, though practically I hardly get any gaming time. Just to give an example…I started up Halo 2 from Halo MCC a couple of weeks ago, then left for an errand, which I anticipated would only take 5-10 and had the console auto-shutoff on me because I left it idle too long.
