First of all…love all the yummy recipes and pics of your handy work in the kitchen. You are all talented. I finally joined this forum after months of just visiting.
so anyhow, when did you all learn to cook?
For me, I used to play with my toy cooking pots on the rooftop with my cousins when I was younger and lived in Pakistan. My daadi used to give me some aata and I’d make these tiny rotis on my toy stove and real fire! haha…I was a mischevious child…
Around 12-13 years of age, I learned the basics of cooking from my mom…first chai (and now I make it better than her ) and the basic salaan recipe, and rice. Rest is all I know from 3am hunger pangs in university and just throwing leftovers in the pot and inventing new dishes. Now I throw dinner parties at school…some dishes are desi, and others are from different cultures. I enjoy cooking if I’m in the mood after studying… but I like to try different things mixed with the classics comfort foods.
So my question is… did you learn to cook at an early age…or close to your wedding, or even after wedding?
