when did you get your daughter's ears pierced ?

My elder daughter was around 7 months and younger one at 3 months. Both were fine.

my daughter was 7 months.

Re: when did you get your daughter's ears pierced ?

My daughter was 2 years old when I got her ears pierced (I got them done in Pakistan with the silver baali), she only said "ouch" .... no crying and no infection issues :)

Re: when did you get your daughter's ears pierced ?

^ same here, we got it done by our gold wala in pak, he took out new pairs of earling from a plastic cover infront of our eyes and it was just one ouch and then a sip of bottle of pepsi that we had there for here. :)

That was hubby’s logic. He said what i did to them was a form of torture!! :frowning:

No pain. Younger one didn’t even squirm or flinch when the guy pierced her ears. Eldest daughter went “owiieeeeeeee” for about 5 seconds, and was fine after that.

wow , thats such a relief Maroush , I almost thought too it was torture for little kids :snooty: .. but now knowing that it doesnt hurt as much , I am relieved and perhaps do the same with my daughter some day inshallah :cb:

Re: when did you get your daughter's ears pierced ?

This thread has sooo motivated me to get it done for my girls. They r eleven months so would they pull on their ears alot? Is there a chance of infection?? Just curious!!

Re: when did you get your daughter's ears pierced ?

5 years. I thought I'd faint, but she never flinched. Got both ears done at the same time.

Re: when did you get your daughter's ears pierced ?

actually I had to get my redone because they closed when i went for Hajj as I didn't wear anything in them the whole time. when i got them done again with silver taar they got infected. it took around 3-4 months to heal & it sure was very painful........ so thats why i am very very scared for my daughter :(

i think i got mine done when i was three , or four i vaguely remember , some family friends took me and my sisters and their kids to get our ears pierced..

i remember the lady asking me to pick out some studs , i think i chose blue or pink.. and she done it with this machine gun thing i think.. dont remember the pain at all

do remember getting a packet of chewing gum as a rewards , i was soo happy...

Re: when did you get your daughter's ears pierced ?

I got mine's pierced when she was two months. Infact a day before she turned 2 months. She only whimpered a little for the right ear! I was like oh! That was easy! Well she screamed for a good 5 to 10 mins after the 2nd one! But they healed quickly n she's 13 months old now and we haven't had any probs!

Its not difficult :snooty: well it depends on teh type of nosering you get. Those nose studs that look like earrings, with that big stopper…yeah that looks kinda gross. But the nosepins I wear.im not sure how to explain, but the stopper is screwed into the pin. So when u look up, the pin is flat against the nostril.

wow … I really am the odd one out here … :hmmm:
mine were done at 14yo …

Re: when did you get your daughter's ears pierced ?

don't have a daughter yet- but mine were done at 5 years and then ammi figured out that I had metal allergies so she allowed them to close, repiercing at 13 and it was one of the happiest days of my life!

:D

That was my mom's reasoning exactly. So I got mine done when I was 9 years old. My younger sister got hers done when she was 10 and then got a second hole in both ears when she was 15. She now is contemplating getting a nose ring at 23. lol.

I remember going to the jewelry store with my mom to get it done and I felt so special! It was just the two of us and she helped me pick out which color studs to get ... she held my hand when the lady used a gun thingie to pierce my ear. Didn't hurt at all and we had so much fun admiring my newly pierce ears in the mirror! I felt so grown up! My mom then took me to CLAIRES which is this cute little jewelry shop which sells all sorts of fun (and fake) stuff for girls. We spent soooo much time browsing all the earrings together and she let me by 5 pairs. I was over the moon needless to say. :D My mom made sure it was a very fun and special day for me. She is the best mom ever!

As much as I think little girls with studs are cute..... I have such a fond memory of this experience that I will do the same one day InshAllah when I have a daughter.
