When career gets in the way

A very tough situation for a family member.

She has a preschooler. Both husband wife work at very demanding corporate positions. They don’t have any family member who can watch the kid or a trustworthy long term nanny/maid. This is back home where daycares aren’t readily available. No possibility of changing work hours.

Only solutions: change job with better timings and less pressure. Or she quits her job.

Quitting job would mean a big financial blow to the family as the guy was off work for almost a year and a half on study leave so she was managing home single handed, plus they have his study loan that has to be paid off. So this would be her last option.

oooh definitely a toughy.

I'm not sure if Pak (or the country they r in) is advanced enuf yet that employers would provide daycare services like they do in North America.

Since child is a preschooler i'm assuming she/he does not go to skool full time. i'm not sure if changing employment wud b the best idea bcuz wat if she does not like the new environment or work or wat if the place is not happy with the mother's performance and given the economic stance it's probably best to keep the job she has unless a really promising opprtunity comes her way.

sometimes i think in pak there r sum skools which keep the child in skool fultime even if it's preskool. mayb she can look into tat option.

best of luck to ur friend.
