When and how did you stop breastfeeding?

That Really. Haven’t really put a lot of effort into stopping. She feeds a couple of times in the day and about 3 times in the night. I feel it gives us both some down time. Feel totally overwhelmed by stopping.

My son was almost 19 months old...and by that time he was eating a lot of different things and only fed once before bed. So it was gradual... j just stopped ding it nightly... skipped a day, then two etc. By the end of the week he was done.

Re: When and how did you stop breastfeeding?

My eldest was ebf....I stopped nursing him at 13 months because I had to...we were going into our second round of IVF and I had to have him weaned off before I could start my shots. It was very hard on him and me, I tried everything and finally had to just quit cold turkey and let him cry it out at night...took 3 days and then he as over it. If it wasn't for my
circimstances I probably would have continued to about 18 months before I completely weaned him off.

Ebf'd my twins 5.5-6 months but had to quit when I came down with shingles lol...had that not happened I would have liked to continue to 12 months with them .

Baby number 1 , nursed till he was 2. Stopped the night feelings first because he was getting up multiple times a night to nurse. Then slowly the day ones. We were done in a week, just a week before his second birthday. Baby number 2, just breastfed for a month then I got very sick and medications made my milk dry up so basically she would drink formula after every feed. So that was it.

Re: When and how did you stop breastfeeding?

nursed my son for 3 months - after that I went to work and pumped for 9 months. He didnt feel the transition much because I stopped exclusively bfeeding at such a young age. I started storing bags about a month before since I had ample supply so that I wouldnt fall behind when going to work.

at 12 months I gradually stopped by reducing my pumping sessions from every 3 hours to every 5, then every 6 and so forth. wasnt painful or uncomfortable with the gradual reduction

EBFed baby #1](http://www.paklinks.com/gs/usertag.php?do=list&action=hash&hash=1) for about 2 months. I was a first time mom with ppd, cracked nipples and extremely overwhelmed with this motherhood thing … I wish I would’ve just tried a little harder!

Nursed baby #2](http://www.paklinks.com/gs/usertag.php?do=list&action=hash&hash=2) exclusively for 10 months, started supplementing with formula when I went to visit Pak. He was on formula full time once we came back. Again, I wish I could’ve done it for much longer as I really enjoyed nursing him :frowning:

Now on baby #3](http://www.paklinks.com/gs/usertag.php?do=list&action=hash&hash=3) we’ve been ebfing for 5 months. He’s teething and going through growth spurts lately and its really hard. I feel like giving up! But then I feel guilty for feeling that way … :frowning:
