when a husband passes away

Re: when a husband passes away

PCG, I'm somewhat confused. Do you or do you not believe/follow ahadith? (Do not have any bad or twisted intentions. Just asking b/c you started a thread on ahadith, therefore, not sure if you believe or not believe in them)

As for the proof, I shall look into it and will try to get back soon, insha'Allah.

Re: when a husband passes away

The Quranic ayahs I posted are what I believe in.

I think they're self explanatory - if I write anything else, I'll only be repeating myself. :)

Re: when a husband passes away

PCG, thanks for clarifying your stance on ahadith, plus the advice. :)

Re: when a husband passes away

Shaikh Kutty makes some important clarifications in here:

…there are a number of misgivings/misunderstandings among ordinary people concerning the dos and don’ts during iddah, most of them, however, have no basis in the authentic teachings of Islam: Among them are the following:

1.A widow in iddah must never talk to any men: this is not correct; she is allowed to talk to men, regardless of whether they are her close relatives or not, so long as he observes the proper etiquettes and manners;

2.She must confine herself to the interior sanctum of her home: **this is also absolutely incorrect, as we have already stated above that widows (observing iddah) during the time of the Prophet, peace be upon him, were in the habit of going out to chat with their neighbours and he approved it. **

am

She cannot wear jewelry, but she can participate in functions and all the other matters.

Re: when a husband passes away

Where does it say she cannot wear jewelry? Apparently, you did not read the whole thread.

I have pinpointed, you out before OMG - you continuously spread nonsense on these boards, and you are incapable of providing any proof for your statements.
