I’m no fan of Majeed Malik..I think his time as Minister was pretty awful but whats going on nowadays is farcical..
Candidate for Chakwal district nazim Lt General (r) Abdul Majeed Malik has engaged Iftikhar Gillani, a renowned lawyer, to file an appeal in the Supreme Court against rejection of his nomination papers.
Earlier, General Malik’s nomination papers were rejected by the district returning officer in Chakwal questioning the authenticity of his matriculation certificate. He had filed an appeal in the Lahore High Court’s Rawalpindi Bench, which upheld the decision of the district returning officer.
The appeal could not be filed before the Supreme Court on Tuesday because the copy of the Lahore High Court’s judgment was not provided to General Malik. “The will be filed on Wednesday morning,” sources close to General Malik said.
General Malik told reporters on Tuesday that he would fight till last as he enjoyed the support of two-third majority in all the 68 union councils in Chakwal district. The general was confident that he would be allowed to contest the election. He said that he would request the Supreme Court to postpone the district nazim election. staff Dailytimes

Its not that General Musharaf or Lt General Abdul Majeed Malik dont have matric certificates, its the power they have or had to mess up the Pakistani judicial system. In other words the judges in Pakistan have a strong tendency to remain loyal to the appointing authority, and are very hard to be bought.

Academically speaking, I dont think anyone can pass the PMA w/o a matriculation certtification. Also there is no way anyone can pass the promotion exams from Captain to Major and so on, or make it thru Staff College. Its just no possible. I know the system. The sifarish and rishwat or nepotism can take one only to a certain post, certainly not to the rank of Lt General.
Zakk , someday the generals will learn you can only lie to people and steal from them for so long before they realize what is happening and take revenge.
The army has done some good in the past but its hold on public life in Pakistan has become more than what most ordinary people will accept now
I agree that the situation is getting worse elahi..by stubbornly sticking to power the Army is now the target of all the blame (whether deserved or not) ..secondly you have officers who are in constant contact with civilians..most lotas and chors now know to get things done ..they have to cosy up to a general..in the long run we all know what happens to an Army which is in constant contact with civilians..it loses its ability to fight effectively.

I almost forgot. A few days back Pervaiz Elahi called a meeting in Lahore of the Chakwal Q-League and in near-threatening tones asked Aslam Sethi, Q-League president District Chakwal, and Colonel Sultan Surkhroo, provincial parliamentary secretary, to support Abbas. To Pervez’s face they refused.

A lady general councillor Azra Begum, an ally of Gen Malik from Dandot, was allegedly offered Rs700,000 by the rival group through a middleman. When she refused the offer, her husband was said to have been picked by the police and detained at the police station.

I think Musharraf has attended Saint Patrick’s High School, Karachi before going on to attend Forman Christian College in Lahore. These educational institutions are regarded as one of the best in Pakistan.
Plan bahi we are talking about his metric certificate because some court in the future might challenge his certificates "when he is not in power" nothing to do with FC college or Saint Patrick's High School.
The matooz will goto extreme lengths and say all those diplomas etc were fake, abey gadhoon do you honestly think a person like Musharraf cant pass a matriculation exam?
