Why are people in disbelief over whether someone in IT can make or not make a certain amount. Go to glassdoor.com or salary.com plug in a company and a title. You will get a good idea of ranges.

Tanvir - I guess the question is directed to me right? I am a Software Engineer by profession & work in a bank's IT department.

People in IT earn from the minimal to the maximum. It varies on a lot many factors & in which sector of IT you are going for. IT Consultants get very well paid, in fact.

Tanvir, the pole dancing (PD) industry is tied to the IT industry's fortune in more ways than one. Hence of late, there has been significant outsourcing, with several PDs opening up in Bengaluru.

I'm a student currently, so I dont make much on my own. The government pays me a salary for education, which is currently about 1000 USD pr. month. Alhamdulillah, its more than enough for me at the moment! From my part time job, I make about 10000 USD pr. year
