If you are in IT and you do not make this kind of money in US then either you do not have right skills or right experience.

That's not necessarily true. $100K is not the starting salaray for very many jobs, but a few. Most people have to work their way up to $100K and even then certain professions (even in IT) will never pay that much.
Re: What's your salary?
Nice.
Thanks. Yup, It is pretty nice.

You are jumping the gun.
Here I quote myself again . With most important part you missed , highlighted.
I hope you get it now .

i think if you are a consultant, you potentially could make this pre-tax fairly easily, but that is a bit misleading as you get taxed twice on this, etc..

You expected this answer to go un-challenged ?
Do you prefer the tiger stripes or zebra on your thong ? :)
Re: What's your salary?
Now I'm curious to find out what the median salary of a bachelors educated individual in the US is. And if we're getting more specific, a bachelors educated IT professional in the US.
I'm not saying that people don't earn $100K or that it's rare or unusual - $100K isn't the huge sum of money it used to be and sure plenty of people earn that much. BUT, is it median salary?
And to queer's comment, let's assume that salary is pre-tax.

You're in IT, Mirch ?
What region of US ?
Re: What's your salary?
IT.
Experience - 10-15 years.
NorthEast, US.
Salary should be between 70k-90k according to professional web-sites.
[firenze is making above the range because of his pole dancing skills. ;)]

Are you hiring ? Which region are you from ?
Re: What's your salary?
Sorry. Nobody is hiring. IT jobs are going to India.
Re: What’s your salary?
Not much, but it is enough for me :k:

Not being from the US, I'm assuming salaries in the Northeast and West Coast are higher than other parts of the US, right?
$70-90K sounds reasonable to me - the numbers correlate with the years or experience. Of course certain segments of IT will pay better even with fewer years experience, but I didn't think it was the norm to be in $100K range with limited experience and non-specialized IT background.

True that.
Re: What's your salary?
^ Agree. West Coast should be higher.

Where are you at ?

haha , not every IT job is going to India , for some they need resident experts , that is why I said you need right skills and right experience to get 100k+ in US.

What right skill-set and experience do you need to stay wanted in US (besides pole dancing for added resume power) ?
