Actaully Brother the Ottomans were still expanding right up till the 1800’s and the Sudan and Afghanistan inflicted terrible defeats on the British imperial armies.

Not even the Mongols could stop the Islamic empire… and India flourished under the Moguls at least up till the 1700’s.

So the Golden age of Islam did last a long time… I think it only started going downhill after the 19th century before then the Islamic world seemed relentless.

What does expansion have to do with the Golden Age? The golden age was about advancement in sciences, technology etc. I can’t recall many major creations, discoveries or explorations.
