Pakistan's independance day is in August M&M..this celebrates Pakistan day..March 23rd 1940..feel free to have a look in Pakistan affairs 1 for more info

Isnt Independance day not Pakistan day? My family always does stuff for Independance day, but iv never heard anyone ever mention "pakistan day"

There is a Pakistani embassy in Vienna. Yes.
But is it active? Far from it.
My dad and his friends alone are more active in organizing events for 14th August and Eid than the whole embassy.

There is an active embassy in Vienna, but they do ‘Flag raising’ only with Staff members .. how exciting. 
Anyway the paki community in Vienna is so small that I could count em all on my fingers. lol

The pakistani community of Markham helf a fund raising dinner and invited plenty of dignitaries from the community including York Region's chief of police who they awarded a lifetime achievement award or something like that. They also raised funds in the order of some tens of thousands of dollars which was donated to the Markham Stouffville Hospital.

the pakistan club too might be holding some events on thursdays, but they r so lousy and the ppl there r so bad-tameez keh i am never interested in knowing....

Zakk is right MM, 14th August is Pakistan's independence day. The Pakistani embassy here chooses to host an organised event for 23rd March rather than 14th August though. I would agree that embassies have a lack of funds - maybe its a worldwide phenomenon Umer?
Chee that's quite nice, was it this past weekend?
Saadia same goes for Durban, most of the Pakistanis and the embassy are up in Jo'burg, which is my excuse for not doing anything.
